You've just hit on one of the evidences of the veracity of the Biblical record.
The life I have lived as an atheist has been amazing and wonderful.
Is that evidence against the veracity of the bible?

I once nominated one of your posts, partly for your unique ability to respond to Dawn without cursing.
What DWise posted is the normal consequence of a person who has repeatedly tried to hammer the 'square peg' of Dawn's gibberish into the 'round hole' of sense.
Dawn is like Dennis Markuze without the ban.

What is your native tongue?
We have people on this forum that speak multiple languages.
Maybe you would have greater success using your first language and having others translate.

Your wasting your time son, intimidation is not a substitute for an actual response to an argument.
I think you do not know what 'intimidation' means.
But since I have just found out that you are American, I am at a loss as to why you don't know what it means.

I've been reading the first 6 pages, and this last one. Is it that hard to avoid debate? There are plenty of topics to do that.
Some people like to tell their stories here, sometimes that can be difficult for them. Please don't ruin this topic by arguing. I'm fine with believing people reacting on people expressing doubt in a polite manner, but this is going to far.
What you posted contains much sense.
I lend my support to your comment and hope others agree aswell.

Doesn't this belong in the faith and belief subforum?
Possibly.
I think it is in Coffee House because Meldinoor didn't want to actually debate anything, and therefore didn't need Moderators' 'discussion approval'.
Maybe it should be moved, but I think that would be Meldinoor's decision to ask.
Perhaps Meldinoor will request a move after reading your posts.

Re: Moderator permission requested
If you ask in Report Discussion Problems Here 3.0 (I think) or you might need to post the request in here.
Either way, a mod should see your request.

I'm been noticing this tread has been rather silent since the deconversion discussion opened.
'Discussion' threads will always be more busy than 'declaration' threads. (People love a good bicker )
I suspect that it is difficult (from a practical point of view) to discuss another person's deconversion.
It takes a certain type of person to argue that your decision was wrong, as noone else was there to share your experiences.
And I would suggest that your post was clearly written if it left people with few questions.
My only reaction to your post is that it looks like you did what you thought was right, even though it was very difficult.
Kudos to you.

Re: dealing with stuff

I have to say, I'm rather relieved I am now open about my atheistic thoughts, but it's still very confusing. Plus I am still a little in limbo. Being atheist has implications on thoughts about the bible, and life in general. I'm still a little afraid to take a firm atheistic stance on them. It's going to take a while before I've sorted it all out.
For me, it is all an on-going process.
There are things I have thought about and things I haven't; things I have taken a stance on and things I haven't.
I find it makes life more interesting.

On a general note, I have been posting in this topic often lately. I would like to post more on the forum, but I am not really really to debate about certain things. Also haven't got much experience in it. Any suggestions?
The only real advice I have is: "Don't rush your replies".
I find that if I leave my initial reply for a few minutes, I will re-write it and the quality can be massively increased.
I also find that a second read of the original post can show a misunderstanding on my part. (Accidentally misunderstanding your opponent's point makes your reply worthless.)
And always use the 'Preview' button!
