Just a request

Perhaps Bush was right to say that atheists are not patriotic?
Utter nonsense.

More irrelevant assertions.
Puritans fled from religious persecution who were the parents and grandparents of the Founding Fathers.
Excuse me? I know that it seems like George Washington slept everywhere, but are you saying that all the founding fathers were descendants of Puritans? Or are you saying that the Puritans fled from the oppression of the Founding Fathers?
Bush Sr comment on how he feels is irrelevant to the state of affairs of an entire nation which Alacrity seemed to imply.
Excuse me? Comments of the US President are irrelevant to the state of affairs of the US?

Re: patriotism to which values?
I would prefer if you also do not use the term 'Judeo-Christian-Islamic God' because to claim that all of those religions worship the same God is clearly false.
Beg your pardon? They do not all worship the God of Abraham?
Of course all three worship the same God.

Re: patriotism to which values?
One God is the Head of a Trinity (in some beliefs) and that same God is out to destroy anyone who believes in a Trinity?
A mischaracterization of Islamic belief. Islam accepts both Jews and Christians as "People of the Book". Islam however is NOT either Christianity or Judaism. Like the Jews, Islam believes that Christians are wrong about Jesus being the Messiah. They are not out to destroy anyone who believes in a Trinity, they just think that they are wrong.
Frankly, none of us alive will know for sure who is right.

Re: patriotism to which values?
Well, looks like I am being condemned to hell by the christian God for believing in the christian God.
Well, as I said they do not believe in the Trinity. They also say that the decision will be after death. Islam is NOT out as you said, to destroy anyone who believes in Jesus.
I said that both the Jews and Muslims do not believe Jesus is the Messiah.
Allah though is the God of Abraham.
Once we die we May find out who was right if any of them.

Blame it on der Bingle.
It's all Bing Crosby's fault.
quote:
Happy Holiday
Happy holiday, happy holiday
While the merry bells keep ringing
May your ev'ry wish come true
Happy holiday, happy holiday
May the calendar keep bringing
Happy holidays to you
Come To Holiday Inn
If you're burdened down with trouble
If your nerves are wearing thin
Park your load down the road
And come to Holiday Inn
If the traffic noise affects you
Like a squeaky violin
Kick your cares down the stairs
And come to Holiday Inn
If you can't find someone who
Would set your heart a-whirl
Take your car and motor to
The home of boy meets girl
If you're laid-up with a breakdown
Throw away your vitamin
Don't get worse, grab your nurse
And come to Holiday Inn

Are those who are offended or complain about not being greeted with "Merry Christmas" wrong for it?

My complaint is about the people who want to stop "Merry Christmas" from being used because they think its offensive or pushing religion on others.
Well, assuming that there even are such people, the fact would be that it is pushing religion just as Happy Chanukah is pushing Judaism.
Merry Christmas is a religious statement.

Christmas is a Christian Holy day.
Christmas like Easter and Pentecost are Christian Holy Days, religious in nature and specific to one particular religion.
A greeting that only pertains to one specific religion is pushing religion, a specific religion.

Re: Christmas is a Christian Holy day.
I'm not sure how that changes the reality of Christmas?
And yes, I agree that the Holy Day has also been secularized, but that is not really relevant to the topic of some imagined war on Christmas.
I'm still waiting for some evidence that there really are folk that believe as CS asserts when he said: "My complaint is about the people who want to stop "Merry Christmas" from being used because they think its offensive or pushing religion on others."
I can see the argument that it is pushing religion; Christmas is only a Holy Day for one particular religion. That much is a fact.
Whether or not it is offensive is an entirely different issue.
