Aha, umm so how where we blessed, and how was this fulfilled by Christ. Did the wars stop, Did hunger stop, did anything bad stop??? Or was this one of those blessing be blessed my child and then you walk out of the church and get hit by a car. The milk carton can bless the world in the same way.
If you look deeper in scripture for more than physical reactions and reason, Paul explains that all spiritual blessings were met in Jesus Christ
While there are always physical blessings as a result of following his principles, the main thrust was the reunification of man to God
There are also negative physical results of following Christs rules and principles, as he indicated there would be

Oh, really? Talking snakes?
Yeah I know what you mean. How could anyone in the 1700s believe that little people could appear and talk on a 19 inch box. I guess its just whos behind the actions and for what reason, right?
Talking snake, talking donkey, yeah I can see it, if there is a good enough reason and mind to bring it about. What say ye?

Re: scriptural unity
So you claim, but which would still not indicate 'unity of purpose'. In addition you have offered no evidence that much of the Bible is messianic or that Jesus is in anyway related to any of the messianic passages.
Any of the Old Testament prophecies that are clear representations of and about Christ and point directly to his life and minisrty will suffice. Some are unmistakable that it cannot be missed except by someone trying to misapply them
And that says nothing about the inspiration that kept the word of God intact through the years
Our ability to reproduce nearly the entirity of the NT together from the early and late Church fathers, so we can see that the manuscripts match nearly without mistake the original autographs
Like I said, "I" dont need to do anything. The scriptures, Prophets, the Law and the NT piece it together so that even a simpleton such as mayself cannot missed it
Merry Christmas (Christ-mas) everybody

The fact that it was written by one person actually gives it the unity of thought and purpose which the Bible so singularly lacks.
You would think right. So tell me Mr, Im an expert on all the theological classics, what exacally is the theme of the Koran? Does it have a main theme to an utimate purpose or is it just a bunch of lifted stories packed together?

The OP seems to ask for reasons why anybody would deconvert, not just you. I don't think you "should" deconvert. Frankly, I'm just glad you're not on my side.
Youve cut me, youve cut me deep and I thought we were friends. Right now and at this very point I am crying my eyes out because of your remarks. No, I just kidding, but you cut me man, it hurts man. No I just kidding again
So exacally what side are you on and where is it headed?

SHHHHHHHH! Dawn is one of our best ever undercover plants for deconversion!!!!
And still as of yet, no one has provided even a specific valid reason why I or anyone else should leave or abandon Christianity
Alot of General complaints, but no argument that says, "You should abandon those beliefs because..................................
Maybe someone will set one out in logical form, so you fellas can get started

Re: Please learn how to read, Dawn
I have been involved in on-line debating and discussion since the mid-1980's. I also participated in local "amateur night"
Your killing me man. "Amaterur night", are you serious?
Again I will tell you, quit with your grammatical ramblings and present the argument or arguments that should motivate one to deconvert
"Mid 1980s." Your killing me man. Im holding my stomach, bent over laughing. Sorry it will be a minute to complete and send this post. Oni, needs to use that stuff, it priceless
Watchout ICANT, we got a guy here that has been debating since the mid 80s. Crap, thats funny

Re: Please learn how to read, Dawn
The things to note about the vast majority of my postings is that I have information or ideas to get across and I write as clearly as I can to get them across to my audience.
And nothing to do with the topic at hand and no argument to present
So do you have a reason why I should deconvert? Can you set it out without a lecture?

Dawn, if you had read my first posts here, you would see that I was trying to establish some definitions of terms, which is what I was taught in logic class was the first step of any debate or discussion.
Did they teach you how to write out a SIMPLE, argument or proposition, the likes of which is, 30 to 40 words or less, as to why I should decovert?
You write to hear yourself, not to make things simplier or help others. This is obvious by the length of your unncessary ramblings, with no point on topic. Just set IT out without the Sominex, lectures. Pleeeeeease?

Re: scriptural unity
But you are embarrassing yourself by posting such half-baked nonsense.
So, once again I must make it known to all paying attention, you have nothing constructive to offer inthe way of following the thread.
You once again, provide no argument or vaild reason why I or anyone should deconvert
Ill be waiting to see if that actually ever happens. My guess is that you wont even make an attempt

Re: Please learn how to read, Dawn
Stop changing the subject! None of the deconversion discussion here nor in the other topic has ever been about you personally deconverting. Where the hell did you ever get that crazy idea?
Hey rocket scientist, Im the one that titled this thread, at the request of admin. Im pretty sure I know what I am asking in the title I have provided.
the other thread was not as specific as this one. here I am asking for a valid reason/s , why a person should deconvert. Not what peoples personal experiences are and are not
That cant be that hard to understand.
My guess is that you cannot, because you do not know how to provide one in a logical fashion
Come on Dewise, put those grammatical skills together and formulate an argument. heck, even a theory from you at this point would be acceptable
For once in your life, get a clue! Then you might stop to be treated like the idiot that you keep presenting to us.
take it real slow, go back and read the title of the thread. Quit avoiding the simple request I am putting in front of you. If you cant do it just say so

Re: scriptural unity
Except, as expected, when asked to support your assertion in a thread devoted to examining the claimed clear representations of and about Christ and point directly to his life and ministry you simply refuse and say you don't have to support your assertions.
Wrong. his life and ministry as related in history and the gospels are direct attestation to that accuracy.
Eyewitness testimony to the events in the nature of Gospels and NT letters.
Unfortunately, you are requiring a type of proof you would not require in anyother instance
Im pretty sure George Washington existed, but even looking at a photograph does not prove to me that he actually existed or that he actually participated in all the events that he was said to have performed, does it?
the Gospels, Acts and the NT letters are as good evidence as any could offer when refering to events that one did not witness at a present date. if you do not believe this, then perhaps you could provide evidence why I should not believe thier testimony
The NT, the Acts and the NT, remove any doubt, as to who those Prophets were speaking. They are unmistakeable and unerring in there application
repeating yourself that it is not evidence is not the same as demonstrating what is clear and obvious
In this area, you have failed to provide enough evidence as to why I should deconvert
The prophecies alone are enough reason to stay

Dawn, no one in this thread has ever even suggested you should deconvert.
Well thats not what the thread is about in the first place, me that is.
its about anyone setting out an argument as to why ANYONE should deconvert
read the OP
