The idea of war on Christmas is absurd. If a person hangs with A mixed crowd, different ethnicities, religious beliefs and customs,
Happy Holidays makes more sense that saying, Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy St. Nicholas day, Happy Winter Solstice, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy New Year, Happy Epiphany and I add another among friends and relatives happy Bluescatmas (9 Jan)
happy holidays covers all bases and offends no-one.

Except for those who want to force their own religion on everybody else.
Or those who want to propagate a deception that they are being persecuted.
Well, if they want to persecute themselves, so be it.

Exactly. There's no good reason to have to avoid using the phrase "Merry Christmas".
In a sense I agree. I will say Merry Christmas on the 24 & 25 of December, similarly I will say Happy Chanukah during the eight days of Chanukah, Happy New Year on December 31 & January 1 Happy St.Nicholas day on December6, Happy Winter Solstice on the 21-22 Devcember etc. Otherwise between Thanksgiving & My Birthday (9 Jan) I say Happy holidays.

I think its wrong to say that wishing someone a "Merry Christmas" is offensive and/or is pushing your religion on them.
I agree, but I also agree with the converse that that saying Happy holidays is not offensive either.
