Re: Pascal's remants
And it is still unrelated to my point.
If you make decision on every act as though you will be judged for that act, you are more likely to choose to do right than wrong.

Re: jar? Purpledawn? Moose? GDR?
I'm sorry but once again Taz, who has claimed that all of any group are tolerant?

I'm not being fair?
Are you saying that when it comes to the polling places there's some kind of mind control machine that makes your all tolerant and loving christians to vote against their conscience?
Once again, I doubt that you can point to where I claimed that Christians were all tolerant and loving.
I'm sorry, jar. I respect you as a man. That said, you should know by now that I point things out as is. I don't care much for political correctness. We can't win our fight for human rights if we continue to sugar coat reality.
Whatever.

Re: The other argument.
And in the end, God found humanity so sinful, that he resorted to have Jesus atone for humanity. And if this does not make sense to me.. And it's the core teaching. If this does not make sense.. nothing does. There also other things I find odd in the bible, that add insult to injury. It makes it seem even more strange to me.
As a Christian, that argument never made any sense to me either, so it seems like a great candidate for ideas to just throw away.

Re: dealing with stuff
As long as you keep looking for answers to question as opposed to answers to questions, all will be okay. Beliefs, like life, evolve over time.

The philosophy of the perpetual journey - never to arrive at a destination.
Presumably this belief is subject to evolution?
Huh?
What makes you think that there are no destinations?

I am saying one should continue to question all the answers.

Re: dealing with stuff
I have arrived at a destination many times. The really nice thing about life is that tomorrow you can go on to a new destination.
If you enjoy playing silly word games then fine, however an answer should never be an and point, a terminus, while someone is still alive.

And when is an answer a destination?
When someone decides to stop thinking.

what do answers and destinations have in common?
I have no idea even what you are asking so I will try yet again to see if I can figure it out.
Are you conflating answers and destinations?

Re: what do answers and destinations have in common?
That's kinda why I asked back in Message 290 if he was just playing silly word games.
