Re: Not murder under any circumstances
Torturing animals is roughly on the same moral level for me as enjoying country music. It's going to represent a fundamental obstacle to us ever being friends, but I don't think you should be criminally prosecuted for it.
So you do not like people that do bad things to animals, tough you do not think they should be punished. Interesting.
By the way i do like country music american and slovenian.
Examples of the stile i like
american

(the old dude actualy jumped out of the plain in a parashute tough with an instructor)
So now that you know that i listen to country music we cant be friends ???
Would the fact that i also listen to Death,Black, Hevy, Power metal make things worse or better, or that i sometimes listen to rap tough oldscool not the new i got more money then you rap. The only thing you will not find on my pc or car is techno or simiilar music thoug i do not mind it in a club. Would any of these fact make it impossible for us to be friends.

Re: Moral Dilemma
If that is all that is stopping you let's hope you never have that opportunity.
Some people do need killing, the problem is if you furfill the need you get punished, so i will not kill a pedofile because i would go to jail tough if that pedofile would tuch any of my children there would be no force on erth heven or hell that could stop me from killing him/her.

Re: Moral Dilemma
What does any of this have to do with your views on the relative moral consideration to be accorded to different species?
An example of suficient reason to kill a noter human being the same species, compared to the weaker examples one needs to kill animals that are not of the same species.

Re: If it Flys it Dies.
winter dove season starts in a week.
I thought god gave us all the animals to do what we want with them.
i think he made us "lords" ( dunno the right translation) over them, and one would think he wanted us to be a good "lord" over them.
In our law when you rent something to someone he is to manage that thing as a good "lord" or pay for the damages. So if he seas a leak in a roof he is suposed to either fix it and send you the bill, call you, have a repair man fix it and send you the bill, or at least put a bucket under the leak and tell you about it so you can come and fix it. If he knows there is a leak and does nothing about it then the damages that may be caused by the water are his fault. If he intentionaly does damage then it is his fault. If he does not care for say a machine in the proper manner (say greasing it once in a while) it is his fault.
So if you use the bible as an example he gave us this planet to rent, and all the dameges we cause to his creation is our fault and comes out of our pocket (time in hell )

I think this fits the topic
Vsak dan prvi - 24ur.com
Tough none of you understand slovenian il translate a bit.
After a torturous death of a dog, that got eaten by fleas in Brot, the police gave the charges to the prosecution. The offender that tortured the animal to death is threatened to one year imprisonment for the act.
This year in the summer the president of the coast society against the torture of animals Andrea Bogataj Krivec found a German Shepard dog on its last breaths with the help of an anonymous tip. He was eaten by by fleas, starved, and full of suffering, blind on both eyes and could not walk. He was crying from pain, and a bit before death. She took him of his chain and took him to the vet, The vet found malnutrition, and dehydration. On his body there where swarms of fleas and was eaten while alive by flies. He was a living cadaver she said. The dog could not be helped so they released him from his pain with euthanasia. The dog was about 10 years old.

Slovenija has a real sick case right now.
A guy was killed by his dogs (bullmastifs), further in to the investigation it was found out that the dogs where raped, and a sex toy was found with the dogs DNA on them the investigation is still ongoing tough it looks like the guy was raping his dogs and the dogs decided they are not going to take it anymore.

Re: Debate Hole
But we all know that you no more believe in equal rights for bacteria (or even ants) than I do.
Well i doubt anyone wants equal rights tough animas should have rights that come in second place after human rights. Why second place well because we are at the top of the food chain, why any rights at all well because the more we respect our enviorment the more we respect ourselves.
And not all living things will ever have the same rights bacteria is our natural enemy lol well lots of them are so its good to kill them.
An ant walking arround in the woods has done nothing to you so why squash it or burn it with a lens. A small fine would be appropriate for such acts. An ant in your home has invaded your territory by all means kill it.
A mouse in the field has done nothing to you so leave it alone and let the cats handle it. A mouse in your house is a nother sottry i dont mind people that have thos neck snapping traps tough if i ever had any mice i would use the one that traps the mouse alive and then i would let it loose outside where my 7 cats and the mouse can have a game of eat or be eaten.
A mouse in the lab or other animal, benefits humanity though that still does not mean you should cause it pain for no reason unless experimental for our benifit tough luck for the mouse but we come first.
Then some animals should have better rights still second to human rights tough more enforced rights. Pets should have the right of a decent life food, play activities possibly a mate, a fitting enviorment. Animals that are breed for our food shoud have better rights too a decent life, decent enviorment and a fast and painless death. Any restrictions of those rights should be heavily fined.
Hunting should also be regulated in my country if an animal is shot and runs away all hunters track the animal so that it does not endure needles pain for too long. And we also keep track of how many of each forest animal there is so we know how many we can/haveto kill off so the population stays roughly the same.
Endangered animals should be protected and the killing of such an animal should be verry hevaly fined and some imprisonment time unless the death of that animal was nececerry for your survival. Say that a endangered tiger species attacked you or you find yourself on an island with only endangered snakes to eat......
