Well, an ancestor-relative, to be more precise.
I know that a few of these "jaw-bones to ear-bones" fossils have been found before, but this seems a particularly good illustrative transitional. It has a feature called "Meckel's cartilage" which we modern mammals still have as embryos, but which disappears as we mature.
