Topic Proposal Issues

I was just reading through some old threads and came across the 'New name for evolution, "The Bacteria Diet"' thread. In that thread you acknowledged a weak OP but said you hoped it would "provide a thread to discuss Bolder-dash's beliefs about the lack of evidence for evolution that had been intruding into other threads".It seems to me that this equally bad OP is exactly the sort of thing that could profitably be directed to that thread.TTFN,WK

Hi Adminy folk,Just to put in my $0.02, Europa only started his previous 'Mitochondrial Eve' thread, paradoxically called All Human Beings Are Descendants of Adam, at the end of February. Has it really degenerated to such an extent that he needs a whole new thread, misspellingly called Becomming Human, to ask basically the same questions all over again?The previous thread was only 77 posts long and it seems to have largely been on topic.TTFN,WK

Won't someone promote sac's topic? If not, why not?

AdminPD usually handles proposals on such topics, but she hasn't been around lately. Maybe AdminAsgara would like to give it a try?If there's been no admin action or response by tomorrow night I'll give it a look.

I see that new member Oliver Chant has raised an interesting new topic: "Evolution complete fact or fiction?".For too long our members have avoided this challenging issue. But I feel that this is time for this tacit self-censorship to end, and for us to seriously investigate the truth or falsehood of evolution.I shall go further. This theme is of such great importance and scope that a mere thread is not sufficient to encompass it, and I hereby call upon the moderators to create an entire subforum devoted to this subject. I suggest that it should be called "Evolution v. Creationism", as a plain and simple statement of its unique purpose.And, finally, let the debate begin!

Poor choice (on grammatical grounds).Make it "Evolution v. Creation" or "Evolutionism v. Creationism".

I think some ground rules need to be laid out beforehand as to what constitutes a "satisfaction" of the LoT's, but I think that if the conversation starts from an interesting port of interest that it could be a rewarding discussion. It seems pointless to propose a new debate, when the question is the performance in previous debates - which are still freely accessible. The facts are already proven and a new debate on the same subject cannot change them.

I just closed the proposal, but I hadn't even considered Free For All, and I think that would be okay, so I'll promote it to that forum.
