Over in the End of Evolution by Natural Selection thread, Scientifictruths was complaining of confusions over the American Date format, to which Percy responded it's easy to shift the dates to your preferred format. Thing is, this made me notice tha the dates of edits appear in the date format of the person doing the editing, not the date format you normally use. Take a look at the screenshot of ScientificTruth's message:
His message is dated as the Euro format that I have set up, but the edit is dated in the American format, so appears to happen a month in the future. Don't know if there's a way of fixing this, but it would be useful if possible.

Hi Caffeine,
Thanks for the info. I can't see the image while behind the firewall here at work: "The web site or page you attempted to access has been blocked because it contains nudity or sexually explicit material." Please post all this material, I'll look at it later.
But even without seeing the image I understand the problem you're describing. While date/time formats can be an issue in the edit timestamp, they should never be a month off, so I will take a look.

Hi admin.
I think it is simply a format issue. Post was day, month, year, the edit was month, day, year, it just happened to be on the 7th of this month and when day, month are reversed it appears a month off. User preference didn't carry over to edit date I guess?

Yes, I think this is what happens, because the edit to your (Percy's) post appears in the format "08-Jun-2011", instead of just being numerical like all the other dates on the page.

I don't see any of those yellow and black little square EvC icons at the top left of the tabs and address bar that are showing in his screenshot.
Is there a cookie or something I can delete so I can start seeing those?
I'm using IE8.

Looks like IE picks up the old icon for some reason. Switch browsers.

Actually, I'm seeing the IE icon of the blue lowercase "e" with the yellow ring around it.
Switch browsers.
This is a work computer.

Bummer, but I just tested it here at home ad IE does grab the wrong icon.

For future reference, they are called Favicons.

While other browsers accept a favicon in any common image format (jpg, gif, png, ico), apparently Internet Explorer accepts only the ico format. I believe I can convert the favicon to ico, I'll give it a try sometime soon. As long as it looks just as good as the current png file I'll switch over to it.
