Lost in Translation
buzsaw writes:
For global government to control the sheeple the elite few will divey out pennies/shillings to the sheeple. Revelation 6:6
quote:
6 And I heard as it were a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A measure of wheat for a shilling, and three measures of barley for a shilling; and the oil and the wine hurt thou not.
Pennies? Shillings? What piss poor translation of the Bible are you using?
Does it also say Jesus was born in Yorkshire?
Good ol' Buzsaw (facepalm)
Addendum by edit - Well upon further research it appears that infallible Bible that has never lost meaning through translation has lost some credibility through some translations.
Penny - God's word, KJVA, ASV, Basic English, Douay, Darby-Rheims, ERV, Webster's.
Denarius - NASB, ISV, Darby, World English.
Day's pay - NLV, ESV, God's Word Translation, Catholic Reference.
Day's wages - NIV.
Shilling - Weymouth.
Younge - denary (!!)
$20 - Catholic Living.
So a while back, you and one other actually had the guts to post which version of the Bible was infallible when I asked directly - you stated the KJV. However by quoting the Bible here it appears you are using the Weymouth, what gives?

Who Gets to be First?
According to my understanding of Canning, he states that each earthquake and general disaster will occur according to time zone. Therefore I guess each time zone, beginning with the western Pacific can post their trials and tribulations first.
Now that does allow for some equality as each time zone can post in sequence. Therefore I believe it is most important that both the innocent New Zealand and guilty Australia (of sticking the US with Ham and Murdoch) be the first to either reassure or warn the rest of the world of the validity of yet another false prophet.
Normally I would ask the Samoans, but given their propensity to both a natural mellowness and become contenders in Sumo wrestling world tournaments, I felt it unnecessary to ask such admirable people to even be remotely involved in such silliness.
So the question again remains, does god use GMT or the meridian, or according to some locals around these parts, CMT?
{ABE} we used to celebrate things like the harmonic convergence (May 82) and the end of the world (around August 87) which were quite memorable occasions according to most other participants. However at 53, married with child, stuck in Big Spring 330 miles from San Lorenzo Canyon, well, might get a bottle of Fraxinet and argue with the wife over who is better, Altman or Kieslowski{/ABE}

So Much for Camping
Well according to the clock on the computer, it's 11:05 CMT which means American Samoa should be experiencing the rapture at this minute.
Another miscalculation?

Mistakes Have Been Made
Buzsaw writes:
ASV shouldn't be in your penny list.
ASV=shilling, as per Buz's post.
Yes somehow I made the mistake of attributing your god's infallible word as penny instead of schilling. My bad.
Baloney! In my 8 years sojourn here at EvC, I've never touted the KJV. I most always use the ASV. All versions have some errors, usually minor and insignificant, according to the manuscript interlinears. The ASV is the nearest equivalent to the Alexandrian Text was derived from the oldest copies.
Once again, my mistake. I should have checked back with your response in Message 3 where you clearly state the ASV is 'closest' to the infallible translation. Well, I repeat, unlike all but one other respondent in that thread, at least you had the courage to identify which version of the Bible was, how should I put it, the least fallible.
Considering this matter of infallible text, it is nice to know that your god uses a Victorian monetary system instead of that satanic decimal coinage.
Edited by anglagard, : replace awful with satanic

Re: More Bad Stuff Ahead For The US
Buzsaw writes:
I don't know where you live, Dr Adequate, but are you oblivious to all of the bad things that have befallen our nation weather wise, fires, monetarily, unemployment and relative to be southwest borders, etc? Like it's one after another.
The body count in the US due to recent floods, fires, tornadoes, drought, fire ants, spiders, drugs, traffic accidents, scary Mexicans, Bush Presidency, Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, WW2, WW1, and even false prophecy (see Heaven's Gate, Koresh, Manson, etc.), still do not total the death toll the US population had under the American Civil War at any equivalent period of time.
Please let me know when your knowledge of US history is equal to your supposed prophecies, as far as I can tell at this moment, they are not worth a schilling.
Edited by anglagard, : Those traffic accidents can really add up quick, the point remains, name any 5 year period of time.

How About the Beginning of the World?
Taz writes:
Did you guys read the news about their total worth? From 2005 to 2009, they accumulated a total of $80 million from donations alone. The group spent a total of $106 million on billboards and whatnot to advertise this event. Many members sold their homes and possessions to chip in.
These christians really could have used this money to do worldly good instead of keep preparing for heaven...
This is exactly why those who deny global warming are predominantly christian. They don't care about this world. They only care about the next.

Apparently his 'prophecies' were only meant for god-honest true believers, namely himself.
