The dems (= rich) also have nothing to lose from playing their games;
Specifically what "games" do you think "Dems" have been playing?
This crisis is solely a function of the fact that Republicans won't take "yes" for an answer. I mean, how is Reid's proposal not precisely everything that Republicans started out asking for? 3 trillion in cuts, no increase in revenue?
Once again, Jon, you're failed to educate yourself on the subject at hand, and as a result you're putting forth this nonsense "both sides do it" position. This crisis has been manufactured entirely as a result of Republican intransigence and bad faith. It's not a "disagreement between Democrats and Republicans." It's a refusal by Republicans to raise the debt ceiling under any circumstances. Full stop.
So they don't.
What, in your view, would be different if Democrats "took it seriously"? What would be different, for instance, from the current situation, where Democrats have offered Republicans precisely what they said they wanted two weeks ago?
