There's a new humor site, Michele Bachmann is an Idiot, featuring quotes from Bachmann's speeches. (via the xblog).

I cannot quibble the conclusion. The girl's light bulb is on dim.But, there are no attributions to any of the quotes listed.Without attributions this site is nothing more than a smear campaign. And not all that funny.

If you check the FAQ, they address this: If anyone is smearing her, it is her handlers and writers. Or herself. But she seems too stupid to have thoughts of her own.

I did read their FAQ.And you believed that statement ... without attributions?No, hooah. Not good enough. Each quote should be clearly attributed for efficacy. Like the creationist rags, unattributed quotes are subject to abuse of reliability and context.This site would be much more powerful if the attributions were cited. Lord knows there's enough real "idiot" there to fill a library so this should present no problem.As with all such things, when citing evidence, cite your source. Anything less is suspect, regardless of their self-serving statements to the contrary.Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.

Good points. However, I, personally, have heard at least a majority of these quotes elsewhere, so they aren't falsely attributed. But you are correct, they should provide the source.

I agree that it helps counter any claims of lies/smears/etc. if web-sites link their sources.
And I am having trouble finding sources.I picked the 2nd 'quote':
Michele Bachmann on Melissa Etheridge:
"Unfortunately she is now suffering from breast cancer, so keep her in your prayers... This may be an opportunity for her now to be open to some spiritual things, now that she is suffering with that physical disease. She is a lesbian."
I can find that sentence all over the web.
But very few links, and none to a source.One link took me to http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/...-day-headache-for-bachmann which is a blog about Michele Bachmann but doesn't have that quote.I even forced myself to listen to one of her speeches:

You poor guy! That must be like watching Kent Hovind seminar videos; you can only watch so much before your stomach can't take any more.But at least Bachman is easier on the ears than Palin, who keeps reminding me of the Weivoda Carpet Girl, TV spokesperson (and, I think store owner's daughter) of a carpet store in Grand Forks, ND. Shrill voice chattering away with a lot of nonsense going on. Enough to drive a person insane.

Seriously: all I got from the speech was hate and ignorance.
She starts off complaining about gays being rich and powerful (because gays are an international organisation, right?) and need to be defeated before they take over control of all schools.
She then says that they can be defeated because are only pretending to be rich and powerful.Searching her speech for the least offensive claim felt like fishing around in a music festival toilet looking for the least offensive turd.
