crashfrog writes: The fact that evolutionists tend to converge on the same theory of evolution is an enormous mark in its favor, and it's the reason that the evolutionist side here has such solidarity. It's not that it's all a conspiracy to disenfranchise people like you. It's that when people genuinely seek out the truth about the history and diversity of life on Earth, they very naturally home in on the science of evolution. Not at all, friend Froggy. All that keeps evolutionist sheeple from thinking for themselves is the fact that the secularistic evolution myth of chaos into order is programmed into their young minds full of mush all the way from pre-school through doctorate degree. All that keeps evolutionist sheeple from thinking for themselves is the fact that the secularistic evolution myth of chaos into order is programmed into their young minds full of mush all the way from pre-school through doctorate degree. Except that even people who somehow sidestep this indoctrination - for instance, the naturalists of Darwin's time who, primarily, trained in seminaries - home in on evolution. The evolutionists here at EvC are overwhelmingly not a group whose knowledge of biology comes from formal education, but by their own independent study. I myself was an evolutionist long before I was exposed to it in school; my early knowledge of the science of evolution came through creationists. Contrast that with you and your creationists - universally of the same religious movement, universally of the same politics, universally of the same opposition to mainstream science in other fields. (For instance, EvC forum has zero creationists who also accept the scientific consensus of global warming.) The only reason you guys don't have universally the same position on creationism is that, since there's no truth to it, you've all had to make it up as you went. There's no surprise when multiple liars find themselves unable to agree on the lie.

Hi Straggler
Was that.... No. But. Could it......? Was it? RAZ was that almost, sort of, ish nearly..... a compliment? One of my favorite quotes:
"He is a stranger to me, but he is a most remarkable man and I am the other one. Between us, we cover all knowledge; he knows all that can be known, and I know the rest." Markl Twain If the two of us were on the same team, tag-teaming on the opposition, the thread would be over the 300 post limit before the other side finished their opening statements Enjoy it for whatever it is worth.by our ability to understand Rebel American Zen Deist ... to learn ... to think ... to live ... to laugh ... to share. Actually on political matters I have found myself on the same side as RAZD plenty of times.
Cest la vie.

Hi Strags
What is with the recent change of name? RAZD still works, I was just struck\touched by Dawn Bertot calling me 'Zen Deist' in our debate (that I need to get back to) and I found I liked it. Pure subjective response eh? Plus, in response to a post I can say See Zen Deist ... (ducks) Enjoy. Rahvin - Why? Because his posts are very freeking intelligent yet makes them understandable to us mortals. That is quite probably the best compliment anyone has ever given me, particularly from "the opposition." Thanks, Chuck.
Actually, the more I debate here, the more I get to know other posters, the more I see I don't belong here. All I can do is be honest with myself and what I believe. As far as debating goes here, I don't plan on ever being picked to be on someones elses "dream team". Some here are in a league of there own. Me, im in the bottom group just hanging on hoping no one finds out im secretly lost and barely getting by. It sucks being down here but then again, no one expects to much from you, until you make statements others disagree with. Which is what debating is all about. Don't sell yourself short. You're among the most rewarding Creationists I've debated with here, simply because you seem to actually pay attention to what's said in a debate. In many debates, one or both sides fail to speak to each other and instead talk at each other, typically for the benefit of the lurkers because both sides consider their opponents hopeless brick walls. You'll rarely find a better place to learn than EvC, not just about the topics of discussion like theology and biology, but of how to argue, and even how to think for yourself rather than just parroting what you're told.

Hi Rahvin
I have to agree with Chuck's post. Frankly I'm awed by your responses in the "Study of the Supernatural" even though I don't agree with your ultimate conclusion. What you're saying is way above my pay grade yet I'm still able to understand your point, to rephrase in my words what Chuck said. I'd be really interested to know what your background is if you're not too shy.

All that keeps evolutionist sheeple from thinking for themselves is the fact that the secularistic evolution myth of chaos into order is programmed into their young minds full of mush all the way from pre-school through doctorate degree. That is so not true buz... Is there anything at all that could convince you otherwise? I wet through Catholic school and we never learned "chaos into order" or really anything about evolution, honestly. When I went to college I took a 100 level biology course on human evolution. The professor even prefaced the course with an explanation that he didn't expect anyone to believe these scientific explanations as the truth, but that he did expect us to be able to explain what the scientific explanation was (and that's what we'd be tested on regardless of whether or not we believed any of it). I was a creationist beforehand and still a creationist afterwards, but I did accept the scientific explanation for how humans evolved because of all the evidence presented throughout the course.

Catholic school may be different than public school. but public school science has assumed evolution for a long time. Even back in the early 1940s when I was in grade school I remember the 5th grade teacher telling us about grunting cavemen. Were it not for church and the Bible, I would have likely become an evolutionist just from being taught that in school. Btw, I see the term creationist as incongruent to evolutionist. Creationism implies a creator, rather than disorganized soup to life to organized complexity absent of a creator. No? What creationist dream team would want the likes of you debating evolutionists, CS? You'd need to be a very efficient devil's advocate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW.
