Yes, there is an afterlife for Hitch. He will live on in his writings, which people will value for many years to come.
Absolutely. As I type, my torrent program is uploading his work. Today someone, somewhere, will open up a PDF copy of "God is not Great" and Hitch will live on a little bit.
I'm going to miss him, but at least his words will live on, to inspire others as they inspired me.

Christopher Hitchens. What a rude awakening it is when he realises that there is an afterlife afterall.
He left an anti-God and anti-Christian, aggressively vocal, atheistic legacy up to the end.
Before he died he said he loved surprises. (ABE: Unfortunately and sadly for him,) as per the observable evidence of the existence of the God who he denied, I have to agree that his last surprise will be a rude awakening.

Devil's Advocate, Pro Bono
My favourite quote is this one when asked to give witness against Mother Teresa at her beatification in the Vatican:
The present pope, in his feverish campaign to make as many saints as possible, has abolished the traditional office of "Devil's Advocate," so I drew the job of representing the Evil One, as it were, pro bono. Fine by meI don't believe in Satan either.

If there is an afterlife Hitch will be welcomed home.

You say this like it's a bad thing....
He left an anti-God and anti-Christian, aggressively vocal, atheistic legacy up to the end.
Ya don't say.... I woulda never guessed it. Did you ever think that is precisely the legacy he wanted to leave? I also notice you leave out his oratory prowess. Is that because you didn't understand a single word he ever uttered because his command of the english language was greater than you could ever dream to grasp?
Leave it to the religious to be twats upon the death of someone... Moral highground my fucking ass.

If there is a God to answer to after death, you're in far more trouble than Hitch.
You act as if Hitch never threw a few stones at Christianity. He sure as hell despised religion, even so called "peaceful" religions like Buddhism. I understand that he is dead, but Hitchens was tough enough to take a joke.

And the conspiracy was strong, for the people increased continually - 2 Samuel 15:12

Re: non-issue
Just in case you were wondering, it's not actually necessary for you to prove you are a puerile dickhead in every thread.
Hitch, you'll be missed. And tonight, anyone tossing a few back in his memory might consider a song in his honor as well.

Nobody has called him a jerk. He was a very intelligent and interesting celebrity who did a lot good commendable things. None-the-less, sadly, he was a deluded lost soul who will be held responsible in the afterlife jugement as some of you will be for blasphemy against his judge, the majesty of the Universe and for deceiving so many.

Re: Afterlife Surprises
There is nothing professed Buz, I am a Christian and catholic in the sense of universal, though not Roman Catholic (thanks Hank), and yes, I imagine Hitch will most certainly be Welcomed Home.
You need to stop alleging falsehoods Buz. Try to be at least a third the follower of Christ Hitch was. I know it's a lofty goal for you but I believe with God's help you might get there; I know I'll pray for you.

Even better, it is, to have Hitch read it to you himself, as he has been all day to me. I'll admit that I'm not at all well read (I can't remember the last time I actually picked up a book) but this book is a fucking amazing piece of literature.
