Gah, ya beat me to it. Horrible loss for humanity. I'll raise a glass of scotch to Hitch.

My daily paper carried Hitchen's column which I looked forward to. I know that we were poles apart on the issue of Christianity but he was a brilliant writer and a thoughtful one. I'll miss reading his insights. His columns were always stimulating.

Whilst many here today are saddened to learn of the passing of Christopher Hitchens, I'd like to take a moment to recognise another sad loss, that of comic book legend Joe Simon. Chief amongst his accomplishments must be the co-creation of the Sentinel of Liberty, Captain America, one of the most enduring characters in all of the comic book medium. I'm glad that Simon lived long enough to see his character realised so wonderfully on the big screen and brought to so many new fans.

Seriously? No one noticed the death of the living god himself? The great one? His holy benevolency?

Seriously? No one noticed the death of the living god himself? Well, the PGA is lamenting the loss of the greatest golfing talent to ever walk the face of the earth. Seriously though, I think a lot of people are worried about who comes next. Perhaps we should all be a little concerned. From CNNquote:

From CNN "In recent months, Kim Jong Un was tied to the disastrous effort to revalue the North Korean currency, RAND's Bruce Bennett, an Asia analyst who has worked with the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as South Korean and Japanese militaries." Trouble was inevitable, everyone knows that a Bruce-based currency is inherently unstable.

Funny you should mention a Bruce currency.
I am trying to introduce the Bruce as a unit of measure. As my name is Bruce and I am almost exactly 6' tall, I think 6' should be called one Bruce. I have been used to measure out things like volleyball courts in the past.Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

What!? CNN made a mistake?
OK. How about North Korean State television for credibility.

I have no doubt that there were people there crying. What I do doubt about that scenario is the sincerity of those crying and the level of coersion that was involved.

Hey, if you are a member of the faculty of the philosophy department at an Australian university don't you think you should update your profile?Read not to contradict and confute, not to believe and take for granted, not to find talk and discourse, but to weigh and consider. - Francis Bacon

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned already, but today is the funeral of Vclav Havel, this country's first post-Communist President, and a man of unusual integrity and honesty for a politician.

Anyone read Cheeta's autobiography? I tells ya, it was self-serving, with many glaring omissions. Nonetheless, his legacy and link to the golden era of movies will be missed.

Is that the chimp from Tarzan?
I'm amazed it lived that long (and secretly appalled as I detest all chimps). The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer. -Attributed to Buzsaw Message 53 Moreover that view is a blatantly anti-relativistic one. I'm rather inclined to think that space being relative to time and time relative to location should make such a naive hankering to pin-point an ultimate origin of anything, an aspiration that is not even wrong. Well, Larni, let's say I much better know what I don't want to say than how exactly say what I do.
