Scoffers will have their way

I told some people on this web site that I've seen evidence for the supernatural. Not necessarily repeatable, testable evidence, but certainly court room type evidence, where you listen to witnesses.
I too have been a witness to unexplained phenomenon in my own apartment. I'll not bother to talk about it though...its time to let the scoffers have their world. Once they become victims of human nature unleashed..once the world becomes so competitive that people will fight for position, once the secular humanists find out that logic, reason, and reality dont lead to altruism through human will alone....then and only then will people seek God. They will, sadly, create their own humanist version....I hope they can share what little wealth remains on this planet.

I do not expect a non-Christian to accept these as evidence for the supernatural, simply because as pointed out I can't prove to someone else that these were indeed answers to prayer.
Should the criteria for evidence be any different for a Christian and a non-christian?
Personally I would say that it should...only in that Christians (by and large) have a stronger belief in confirmation bias as answered prayer.

Reintroducing a good topic
truthlover writes:
I could list a thousand circumstances that I thought were the hand of God. You could work at explaining them. Some of them would be easily explainable (50-50 chance). Others would be far more unlikely, and you could say that unlikely things happen to people, just by odds. I can't calculate the odds of things happening to me. I can't judge my psychological stability when I had such an intense experience back in 1982 that I promised myself to God. Maybe I was just having an LSD flashback or something. (Actually, I didn't do anything like that often enough to be risking flashbacks, I don't think--just a statement in my own defense.)
In the end, though, I think that even taking an objective look at things--as objectively as I can muster for myself--giving myself to God looks like a really, really successful thing to do, and that the things that have happened to me have been guided by God to put me with his people and make me into someone who would help take suffering out of this world, not bring more into it.
This was a well done topic, and I am reintroducing it. There were several good responses in here, and Rrhain was one of them.
