Just from the title of those books, it sounds like they would go a long way toward making self control for me possible on this forum. People here seem to take great pleasure in driving one's self esteem into the toilet.

It is popularly believed that "venting" one's anger gets rid of it, as though it were a build-up of steam in an engine, but the evidence from psychological studies is the very opposite: expressing your anger leaves you feeling angrier than you would if you didn't. After all, anger is not really a substance subject to conservation laws, it's a state of mind. I can look up some of the studies for you if you like. I can only speak from experience. When i don't get rid of my rage in some way or at least let people know how I feel and what is bothering me, it only means bigger problems down the road. I haven't been a part of the studies you mention so part their conclusions aren't so accurate?

It was explained to you at the beginning of this thread that your perception of how everyone felt about you was wrong. You obviously don't believe this. No-one hates you, no-one despises you because of your point of view. I'm sorry but my perception is not wrong at all. I see clear evidence to the contrary here all the time. Yes, all creationists are hated on this board. That is obviously clear. Perhaps you define hate differently than I do. I just know that if I spoke to someone like many of you do here, I know it would mean that I hated them, and it would be mainly for who they are.

This may not be hatred to you, but if I disrespected someone to the respect that adequate has just done, I know it would be because of my hatred for who that person is. I know it when I hate someone, unlike some here who try to deny it in themselves.

Think about the lurkers -- the many people who read this forum but rarely or never post here. You are arguing to persuade the lurkers. You aren't likely to persuade the regular participants here, and you should already know that. So your aim should be to leave a clear record behind, for the benefit of the lurkers. When you lose your cool, you also lose many of the lurkers.

Why do you think anyone here hates "Creationists"; Creationists are simply not significant enough to engender "hate". I think that it is pitiful that there are still Creationists and hate the idea that there are people who claim to be teachers that try to sell such nonsense.
Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Even though how he is able to create paragraphs, his content is the same. He objects to what's been written. Objects to what exactly? He refuses to say and then rants in the same vein as quoted above. What is the reasoning behind his objections? He refuses to say and continues to rant in the same vein as quoted above. It is impossible to reason with someone who refuses to think and it is impossible to have any kind of rational discourse with someone who is so strongly committed to being irrational. It's the same as trying to deal with a raving lunatic, even when the person is not actually one but rather insists on acting like one. Your point is only valid for this past month perhaps. That was after I became full of rage. Your quotes are from one night when issues outside of this forum had me in a "state". I already had residual anger toward the people in this forum ,and what I started reading in "three kinds of creationists" set me off on an uncontrollable rage. Other than that, I am usually quite rational. You may not like my point of view, but I am rational.

If you ever watch CSPAN, you will see congress-critters saying nasty things about one another. After that, they go out to dinner and have a good time together. What they do in Congress is about the issues, not about the people. They are performing for the public. It's the same with Internet debates. What you say in an Internet debate is a performance. It isn't about you, it is about the positions you are arguing. If you met some of the participants outside the debate environment, you would probably get along fine with many of them.

That would only be true if I forgot everything you said to me in this forum and their was good reason to behave in public. Otherwise, I would inwardly hate most peoples guts here in public even though I was talking pleasantly to them to their faces.
