Well, I've seen three excuses.
(1) God created the light in transit. This means, of course, that when you see (for example) a supernova more than a few thousand lightyears away, you're watching something that hasn't actually happened, and the universe is literally one giant fake.
(2) The light ran most of the way, but then slowed down, because ... er ... look, a bunny! This would break a few laws of physics, but creationists don't really like the laws of physics anyway, look at their longstanding grudge against thermodynamics.
(3) The stars aren't really that far away. Of course, if you compressed all the galaxies we can see into a sphere only 6000 lightyears in radius we'd all be dead, but this is a mere detail.
It is of course possible to combine either of the first two with the third in a sort of belt-and-braces approach to reality denial.

Re: The Light Went On In My Head
Even if we assume for the sake of argument that the earth was 10,000 years old (which I'm fairly convinced it isn't) The light from the distant galaxies would have still been heading this way.
Yes, but it wouldn't have got here yet.

3) Jason Lisle has recently proposed an imaginative theory, that the speed of light moves instantaneously toward an observer, and at 1/2 c away from an observer. He claims freedom to do this because he believes that we can only measure the round trip speed of light, but not the one-way speed of light. But in this he is wrong. We have good measurements of the one-way speed of light, and devices such as particle accelerators and free-electron lasers would not work if the one-way speed of light were not c.
Also, consider how the fact that the speed of light was finite was first discovered. It made sense of the apparent motion of the moons of Jupiter, which didn't make sense on the assumption that it was infinite. Now that, of course, was light coming from the moons of Jupiter to observers on Earth.

Poe
Once again, I should like to suggest the OpticalIllusions is just a troll trying to wind us up. No creationist is quite that stupid in quite that way. This is not to say that he isn't a drooling moron, because clearly he is, but I don't believe that he is a creationist drooling moron.
