NosyNed is joining the "staff" as AdminNosy. There may be some setup time remaining, before he comes to admin-life.
At least initially, he will have moderator status in the "Big Bang and Cosmology" and "Dates and Dating" forums.
Perhaps some day, he can challange AdminAsgara, for the control of the universe.

ps: We haven't given up on finding creationist moderators, although we are doing a pretty good job of faking it.

I promiced you a password??? D'oh!!!
Actually, as the various modes of Nosy knows (Yes, the nose knows!), we are trying to execute a run-around of the restriction that only one user can register on any single e-mail address. But this requires Admin/Percy's active participation, and he seems to have taken most of today off.
Suggested signature for the new moderator:
"What goes? Only the nose knows!"

I gave my personal "blessing" to AdminNosy, to try to recruit Buz, as a new moderator.
I think is inherently a difficult place for members of the creationist side. It is designed to be a (mostly) scientific forum, for what amounts to be a debate between science and religion.
Creation side members are far in the minority of the population here. As such, they, and particularily Buzsaw, have heavy loads put on them. I think this situation may make it very difficult for Buz to be a moderator, but we shall see if he wants to take a stab at it.

Nosy, as I see it, you are still often functioning as a moderator, under the NosyNed name. This is OK, and welcome, but we did stick you with that powerful "AdminNosy" persona, which is also available (and perferred?) for such activities.
Cheers,
Adminnemooseus

In my e-mail communications with the then yet to be AdminNosy, he expressed some opinions on where he though the focus of this forum should and/or shouldn't be going. I think I agree with those views, and encourage AdminNosy to bring them forward.
In general, I think we need to tighten things up, and focus more on things creation and evolution.
I have also (elsewhere) recently, and less recently, expressed a distaste for the "Free For All" forum. Discussion of that can be done at "Retire Free For All Forum?".

Members may have noted that Ned has recently posted moderator type messages both as NosyNed and as AdminNosy.
By his choice, Ned has full moderator powers only in the Cosmology and Dating forums. He, however, is still free (and IMO welcome) to offer up moderator guidence in any of the forums. Apparently he had done so, but has previously chosen to do such as NosyNed, in the forums he does not have full moderator powers in. I have encouraged him to do all his moderating, regardless of forum, under the AdminNosy name.
This leaves him in a somewhat "grey" area situation, when he moderates as AdminNosy in the "non-full power moderator" forums. When AdminNosy posts in those forums, he is still listed as a moderator, even though he is only there as a "soft moderator".
Cheers,
Adminnemooseus
