Having read your posts on other threads I too am coming round to the idea that you are a prankster (a "Poe", as we call it). No-one can be so thoroughly stupid about all the subjects that you're wrong about. I think you're just winding us up.

Named after Nathan Poe over at Christian forums who once quiped that it is impossible to tell the difference between a serious fundamentalist (or conservative) and someone doing a parody of a fundamentalist because fundamentalists say the stupidest things. The Landover Baptist site is a good example.

thanks and thank you Panda, I honestly thought it was an acronym.
Named after Nathan Poe over at Christian forums who once quiped that it is impossible to tell the difference between a serious fundamentalist (or conservative) I have been a Poe before, Poe's law is accurate, no one can tell especially the condescending rage-liberals (they usually like to title themselves as intellectual). Fundamentalists definitely put the Mental in fundamental. I think the Landover Baptists are not Poes, When I lived in Missouri I went to a landover baptist church for a couple months, and they are serious about that weird stuff. anyway I don't want to stray to far from the topic, I just cant understand how anyone would think teaching religion in public school would make much of any sense. I went to Catholic school, and we did have religion but it was a separate class (ie I had biology in the 2nd period and Religion in the 5th period, they never came up in the same class, and they really didn't contradict each other, but then again we have Jesuits so I could be spoiled.) Now I did take a world religions class at the university (which was public), but it was very nuts and bolts and covered the hows and whys of the major religions based on climate and the economies.

Sure you aren't confusing it with Westboro Baptist Church? Landover is meant to be based out of the fictional town of Freehold, Iowa.

Somebody doesn't know what uniformatism is.
Hint: the term was originated by Lyell (1830), who applied it to a concept expounded by Hutton (1788). It has do do with geology. Geology = study of the planet earthGeologist = One who does or paticipates in any of the geological sciences Uniformatism is the logic and method by which geologists attempt to reconstruct the past. It goes like this: "The present is the key to the past". Note that this includes catastrophies. Emmanuel Velikovsky= Psychiatrist. Nothing to do with geology uniformitarian astrophysicist Edited by Pressie, : Changed the sentence order

quote:Creationism is not science. For creationists to put the word "science" after the word "creation" just to pretend that it is science, still doesn't make it science. It remains religion. They can fool some people by using that tactic, but that haven't fooled the scientific community, which includes a lot of religious people. And yes, if you want creationism taught in science classes, you are a zealot.

Don't feel bad, Arty: when I first found the Landover Baptist site I immediately registered to liberal-rage and made several pompous post about how wrong it is to keep African children as house pets...
Then I thought: 'hang on, I'm being SO trolled'. Edited by Larni, : ClarificationThe above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. I have to say the site is bloody funny.
They use the Bible really well to justify thier points. The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer. -Attributed to Buzsaw Message 53 The explain to them any scientific investigation that explains the existence of things qualifies as science and as an explanation-Attributed to Dawn Bertot Message 286 Does a query (thats a question Stile) that uses this physical reality, to look for an answer to its existence and properties become theoretical, considering its deductive conclusions are based against objective verifiable realities.-Attributed to Dawn Bertot Message 134
