This is mainly due to a decrease in postings in the other areas, rather than an increase in Coffee House posts.The creationists have gone AWOL, have perhaps started more of their own sites.

Once we insist on evidentiary-based argument, there's no room for creos to participate. We are a victim of our own success.

Creationism has been dead for a long time. It's just taken a long time to fall down.

I think there are several causes for the recent dearth of creationists here at EvC Forum:

1. Dover. Except for the "Teach the Controversy" efforts, in the wake of Dover creationism and ID greatly reduced their overt efforts, and creationist activity here is proportional to these evangelizing efforts. Creationist participation here has declined every year since Dover.

2. Increasing use by the online community of portable technology like cell phones and tablets where discussion boards are not as easy to use. We're not getting many new evolutionists, either.

3. Efforts by board administration at discouraging the participation of those creationist/ID members for whom English was a second language, or whose comprehension skills were so poor the effect was the same. Though they uniformly refused to acknowledge any comprehension issues the problems were obvious, sometimes hilarious, but always frustrating.

4. Ineffective board moderation at reining in the behavior of some of our more obnoxious evolutionist members, who though few post frequently and, if credit be given, very effectively.

Did you take a look at Foreveryoung's latest posts though? The problem is not that he was particuliarly rude or that he refused to present any evidence, but that none of his fellow creationnists called him out on it. In those conditions, it's hard to have an intelligible debate. I'm not experimented enough to tell whether they were always like that but there's just so much debate you can have when a whole side is reluctant to provide evidence or refuse to admit their "sides" most obvious mistakes

keep up your strawman and character assassination, it is the only way you can defeat me. with regards to the message in question i was merely making an observation on what this site has become.There a number of people here who cannot engage me without name calling, and i get blamed for "their" lack of ability as posters.everything i learned about bigotry i learned from this site.
