wait a minute...are you stating that you are not?
Well, y'know, I don't like to brag, but yes. I'm probably not the epitome of evil. Maybe a paradigm for it, but not an actual epitome.

Re: Fyoungs posts of hate
I have already acknowledged my own rage. That is why I am able to clearly see that same rage in many of your self righteous, pompous asses.
If you stub your toe against a wall, and acknowledge your own pain, do you think that that makes you "able to clearly see" the same pain in the wall?
Seriously, you identify "the worst scumbags on earth" as people who tell you that you're wrong about biology. Seriously, you think people who correct your naive errors in biology (usually politely) are worse than pedophile rapists, cannibal serial killers, mad dictators, active participants in genocide? --- all of whom inhabit the planet along with me and Theodoric?
Well then, you've lost all sense of proportion. There is no meaningful system of morality that involves the protection of your ego as it relates to your grasp of the life sciences and identifies that as the highest moral value.
And when you further tell us that we must feel the same way about you because you disagree with us about biology --- then you have lost your grip on reality. Obviously we don't. You are the only person I've ever met who feels so passionately about your opinions about biology and geology and so forth that you think that the people who disagree with you on those subjects are the worst people on earth, displacing genocidal maniacs and cannibal serial killers from the top spot.
Obviously I don't feel the same way about you. I'm not nuts.

Feeding the troll (or something like that) blurs the situation
1) This is the "Free For All" forum, but the big traditional exception to the "no moderation" rule is that things should still stay on topic. Much of what is being said is pretty remote to critiquing moderation actions or non-actions.
2) My impression is that mixing it up with the perceived offender (aka "Feeding the troll") doesn't help the moderators deal with the situation. Instead of having one clear cut offender, we also have a bunch of others contributing to the mess.
Or something like that.

ps - I probably would have slammed AE hard, when this was first reported by Theodoric, but I am still a little miffed about his sniveling after the Hooah affair.

He needs to talk with a counselor about this. And there are Christian counselors who specialize in dealing with the Christian mind-set and I'm sure that they have had experience with his problems that I'm sure he thinks are uniquely his.
Unfortunately many of them might agree with him that we are the epitome of evil.
I wouldn't doubt that, since my understanding is that Christian counselors mix standard counseling theory and techniques with references to the Bible. I also understand that that is necessary since their clients' psychologies have been infused with their theology, such that they think about everything in terms of their theology -- this is the same reason why Christian counseling and programs such as their DivorceCare are useless and worse than useless to non-Christians (though I've heard that now military chaplains, especially Army, require divorcing military couples to go through the DivorceCare program -- and here I had thought that it was the Air Force that was being taken over by fundamentalists).
Yes, I'm sure that they will go over 2 Corinthians Chapter 6 and other similar passages. And, since it appears to me that foreveryoung is trying to fight the early on-set of deconversion, I'm sure that a Christian counselor will try to stave off that as well, likely leaving him more deeply delusional than he is now.
But at least a counselor could help him work out the emotional turmoil he's going through and teach him how to deal with before it grows to the point of getting him in trouble with the college and with the law.

If a Muslim feels that he wants to blow up some infidels, does he necessarily need to talk to the nearest imam for advice?

come now admin, someone else's actions before shouldn't dictate how you treat a problem if they report it.
it is rather unreasonable and petty don't you think?

I think that rather depends on the imam.
After all, if a Christian felt that he wanted to blow up some abortion clinics, a pastor/priest/revered who also happens to be a decent human being would probably be a great person to talk to.
I don't think all Muslims or even all imams want to blow up infidels. If they did, I think there'd be a lot more of the blowing up.

The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.
- Francis Bacon
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers
A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity. — Albert Camus
"...the pious hope that by combining numerous little turds of
variously tainted data, one can obtain a valuable result; but in fact, the
outcome is merely a larger than average pile of shit." Barash, David 1995.

So now you are comparing me to fanatic muslims who want to blow up infidels? This is why I despise you so fiercely. That is an extremely hateful insult that you know good and dam well has no comparison at all. I am talking about what kind of feelings I have when dealing with assholes on a debate board. Muslims are not angry. They CALMLY feel religious obligation to blow up infidels. No comparison whatsoever.

Re: Fyoungs posts of hate
Except that someone who describes himself as a "Christian counselor" might influence him just the other way.
Any kind of counselor could do the same, abusing his position to pervert his patients/clients (just what are they called?) into furthering the counselor's own agenda -- how many wives have gone to a counselor to try to save their marriage only to get talked into divorcing the sucker? When we seek help and advice from a counselor, we need to trust that that counselor is ethical, so we would need to trust that a Christian counselor that foreveryoung would seek out would be ethical.
OK, using "Christian" and "ethical" in the same sentence? Those are two terms that, with our extensive experience with creationism, just do not go together. OK, so to borrow from Rahvin's reply, we can at the very least hope that that Christian counselor would at least be a Mensch. OK, using "Christian" and "Mensch" in the same sentence? When was the last time you have ever met a Christian who was a Mensch? For me, it was 1995. Let's face it, their theology is not at all conducive to Menschheit.
But despite all those difficulties and many more, we must hope that the counselor puts the needs of the patient/client before his own agendae.
If a Muslim feels that he wants to blow up some infidels, does he necessarily need to talk to the nearest imam for advice?
Or if a "True Christian" feels that he wants to blow doctors and non-Christians away with his shotgun or whatever other implements of destruction, then that's what he's going to do. He shouldn't feel any need to talk with a religious counselor about it, unless he wants to leave behind a big political statement in case society rightfully stops him, cutting him down like the rabid dog that he is, before or after the fact. Rather, the need to talk about it beforehand would rightfully be seen as a call for help, that that person doesn't actually want to go through with it.
That foreveryoung seeks to redirect his rage and aggression against us, effectively non-corporeal entities in cyber-space, instead of against the real-life people in his everyday corporeal existence, would indicate that we are seeing a call-for-help.
He needs to find a qualified person whom he can trust with whom to talk about what he's going through.

You also have religious hatred for muslims.

Weird.
As I read that post, Dr Adequate was commenting on the general principle of seeing a religious counselor. There was nothing specific to you.
foreveryoung writes:

Well, there's the problem already.
You shouldn't be talking about personal feelings on a debate board. You might have such feelings, of course, but you should try to leave them out of the debate. We might be trying to destroy your arguments, but we have no interest in destroying you. If we were to meet, it might turn out that you are a really decent person that we would all appreciate as a friend. But that wouldn't stop us from trying to destroy those of your arguments that we think are wrong.
Can you try to not take everything so personally?

Jesus was a liberal hippie
