I am not sure that you can demolish things that have never existed.
Buzsaw made some baseless claims and when asked to substantiate them he has...
  • Called people trolls:
"Tangle, Caffiene and some others, to a lesser degree, you are craping up my thread with long off topic troll messages."
  • Claimed the thread is being derailed:
"It appears that since a number of the respondents can't refute the substance of my OP that they are having these off topic vile discussions among themselves. They are doing their best to derail the thread."
  • Simply denied that the OP is anything to do with him:
"There's nothing in the OP pertaing to me. ... There is nothing, whatsover about me or my views."
  • Asked patently off-topic questions:
"When has the tiny nation of Israel (I say the nation of Israel) ever in it's history sought to conquer another nation beside it's own nation, Israel for occupation?"
  • Ignored several posts showing hard data countering his assertions.
    Buzsaw has not yet responded
  • And contradicted himself:
"This thread does not pertain to disasters which have been observed over the decades and centuries past."
"My OP and Message 5 pertain to the present rapidity of a variety of distructive disasters which is a phenomenon that has never been observed in US history."

Since Buzsaw refuses to do anything more than troll his own thread, there is little else for anyone else to do either.
Though I expect he realises that when it comes to evidence of his bigoted claims, as usual, he has nothing to back them up - because there is nothing to back them up.

CRYSTALS!!

I see no basis for believing that he has this awareness. In fact, given his extensive history here of maintained unevidenced positions in the face of massive amounts of contradictory evidence, I think it's reasonable to assume that he simply lacks the capacity to understand the concept of supporting evidence.

Heinlein says...
Robert Heinlein wrote,
Belief gets in the way of learning.
Time Enough for Love, 1973
I think we are seeing an extreme case of this. Buz seems incapable of entertaining any idea that contradicts his beliefs--no matter what the evidence says.
This may be good religion, but it is contrary to what it means to be human.
Another gifted writer, Ayn Rand, explained it this way:
What is the nature of the guilt that your teachers call his Original Sin? What are the evils man acquired when he fell from a state they consider perfection? Their myth declares that he ate the fruit of the tree of knowledgehe acquired a mind and became a rational being. It was the knowledge of good and evilhe became a moral being. He was sentenced to earn his bread by his laborhe became a productive being. He was sentenced to experience desirehe acquired the capacity of sexual enjoyment. The evils for which they damn him are reason, morality, creativeness, joyall the cardinal values of his existence. It is not his vices that their myth of man’s fall is designed to explain and condemn, it is not his errors that they hold as his guilt, but the essence of his nature as man. Whatever he wasthat robot in the Garden of Eden, who existed without mind, without values, without labor, without lovehe was not man.

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

Give Buz some breathing room
Lets quit jumping all over Buzsaw and give him some breathing room. This is his topic, and I think it only fair that he be allowed to continue it.
Buzsaw, if you dont have anything more to express, I may consider closing it, but if you do, by all means continue.

As we throw Israel under the bus, all the while aiding and building up the armies of their enemies, we are essentially cursing Israel.
I, like others, are wondering why God needs our help. Even more, how can America thwart God's intentions? Seems really wierd if you ask me. Is God omnipotent or not?
That America is being pounded with disaster after disaster is, imo, just another evidence that he does, indeed, exist and is to be feared and acknowledge by man, whom he created in his image.
Some people just don't know how good they have it. You cite people being without power, and yet 200 years ago NO ONE HAD POWER!!! Oh, the wrath of God was quite powerful 200 years ago. Wonder what they did.
I guess you have never heard of the Little Ice Age, Black Plague, 1917 flu pandemic, the burning of San Francisco, Chicago, and London, etc. Did you live through the Dust Bowl? My grandparents did, and I really doubt that today's disasters are worse than that single disaster.
Edited by Taq, : No reason given.

Lets quit jumping all over Buzsaw and give him some breathing room.
Internet dogpiles are one of the Seven Plagues that God has unleashed upon America. Buzsaw is merely suffering for our national sins.

But office football pools are not marriage I believe.
Do you truly believe that the only duties and responsibilities in a marriage are those which are enforced by the government?

No Curse on America
Unfortunately the your Bible verses don't support that God is cursing America.
quote:
1. Genesis 12:7 "I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;"
God is talking specifically about Abram. Those who bless Abram will be blessed by God and those who curse Abram will be cursed by God.
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. KJV
It doesn't apply to Abrams descendants or the current state of Israel. Thee is singular.
quote:
2. God destroyed Sodom and Gohmorra by fire so suddenly that no one escaped, due to the prevelance of homosexuality, i.e. a city from which the term sodomy was derived to depict homosexuality
The story does not say that the cities were destroyed due to the prevalence of homosexuality.
God said that the outcry against the cities was so great and their sin so grievous that the cities would be destroyed. It was nonspecific. (Genesis 18:20-21) Even the messengers did not make the accusation more specific. (Genesis 19:13)

There is no marriage unless it is recognized by the government.
Since this is totally off topic and irrelevant to the thread, if you would like to start a new topic I'd be happy to discuss it there.

Buz
The most well known sermon in the Bible is Jesus' "Sermon on the Mount". Let's just see what Jesus has to say about thiis. From Matthew 5:
quote:
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Emphasis mine.
Your view of the character of God is so often in complete contradiction to what we see in the character of His incarnation in Jesus.
I've known others that hold to the same view of Biblianity as opposed to Christianity that you do, and like you they in general do a lot of good in the world from lovingly raising their kids to both monetarily and physically supported unconditional aid to the third world.
It does however too often bring people to hold views that IMHO are decidedly un-Christlike when it comes to being judgemental and feeling that something has to be done about it.
Paul writes this in 1st Corinthians 4:
quote:
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
I do believe God will judge at the end of but as Paul says it will be "at that time". In the meantime we are called to let Him work in the hearts of men to bring aid to those that have endured hardship from disaster whether it is our own countries or anywhere else in the world.

He has told you, O man, what is good ; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

To be fair to him, that's because he's getting his ideas from the Old Testament, which gives us a view of the character of God which is, in fact, in complete contradiction to what we see in the character of his supposed incarnation in Jesus.

Re: Learn the basics.

Of course it would be off topic to discuss the above. The above is not remotely the same as your original statement, which was "Unless it is recorded and sanctioned by the government it carries NO rights or responsibilities."
