Note how historically ,turtle like, slow the graphs have moved up. No other recovery in history has been this pathetic. It is very similar to stagnant to slow growth experience under the policies of FDR. So the aftermath of one financial catastrophe is similar to another. Obviously, then, the people to blame are not the people who caused the catastrophes, but the people who managed the aftermath, because ...
The fact of the matter is that economies usually recover very vigorously if business know what it is dealing with. They didn't know what was going to happen from one day to the next with the FDR administration. Ditto for the obama administration. What don't they know, and why don't they know it? Are they stupid? (That would explain a lot.)
That uncertainty combined with anti business rhetoric spewing out from this administration on a daily basis ... ... ah, yes, the classic double-whammy of two things you made up in your head.
If government gets completely out of the way, an economy naturally grows its GDP at 7% a year. And you know this how?
We should be down to 5 percent REAL unemployment by now, not the FAKE 8.2 percent put out by the bureau of labor statistics. We certainly should not be at the REAL 11.2 % unemployment that we are experiencing now. This figure is what you get when you use the the number of people in the labor force when obama took office. It is the same method that was used during the early part of the reagan administration. There was no monkey business in the jobs numbers then. If you don't know how the BLS calculates unemployment, I can find you some links.

Name one thing the conservatives made up in their heads. Well, the first thing that springs to mind is your fatuous rubbish about "the pressure put on banks to lend to people who had no business borrowing money". It's a bit disgusting, isn't it? The causes of the crisis were clear to anyone who had anything to do with finance. But most of the U.S. population don't. So the the rightist propaganda-masters said to themselves ... hey, is there some ludicrous, absurd, contemptible way that we can blame this on black people? This combines two of their favorite things, absolving their paymasters of responsibility, and racebaiting. And so, just when you thought they couldn't sink any lower, they did. These conservatives are often dirt poor and they appreciate that someone has enough money to get their point of view out. I might agree with you if the policies that these ads are pushing actually helped the dirt poor. The "conservative" message now is that Obama is trying to do TOO MUCH for the poor. Plus, that is besides the point that nobody suggested that advocacy for issues be limited. If the Koch brothers want to spend a few million dollars trying to convince people that Ayan Rand was a goddess and that people need to get with the new libertarianism because selfishness is good, that's fine. But the campaigns that advertise the candidates and their positions should be funded by the public. There is a very simple reason for this, they are OUR campaigns not those of the people running. They are public servants the moment they decide to run and nothing would make that more real than if they were no longer slaves to rich donors; but rather servants to the public commons as they logically should be.BUT if objects for gratitude and admiration are our desire, do they not present themselves every hour to our eyes? Do we not see a fair creation prepared to receive us the instant we are born --a world furnished to our hands, that cost us nothing? Is it we that light up the sun; that pour down the rain; and fill the earth with abundance? Whether we sleep or wake, the vast machinery of the universe still goes on. Are these things, and the blessings they indicate in future, nothing to, us? Can our gross feelings be excited by no other subjects than tragedy and suicide? Or is the gloomy pride of man become so intolerable, that nothing can flatter it but a sacrifice of the Creator? --Thomas Paine

But the campaigns that advertise the candidates and their positions should be funded by the public. Well, they are, Jazzns. It's on your tax return, even - you can elect to have $3 go to the party of your choice for their campaigns. It doesn't come out of your tax refund, it comes out of the government's tax revenue. Public funding of political campaigns is already happening. What do you propose that is actually different than what we have?

What do you propose that is actually different than what we have? Have it be compulsory and without necessitating matching funds. Also, go back to outlawing unlimited electioneering by corporations.

This Bain scandal is getting good!
Mittens is squirming like a worm on a hook trying to remember how many documents must be out there that he signed off on as CEO after 1999. "You were not there for the beginning. The "conservative" message now is that Obama is trying to do TOO MUCH for the poor. Thing is, no matter which government numbers you use, the pressure to repay debts is overwhelming. It does no good for the poor to all have minimum wage jobs if the middle class get hollowed out. Romney suggests that lowering taxes and stimulating business is good for the small businessman, like my father was. Obama, on the other hand, wants to make sure I get social security and medicare till I die. I think I like that premise better.

Hi Taz, I do not think we are doomed. Mitt has some serious problems with how he can be CEO of Bain and not be responsible for the outsourcing of jobs and liquidating American companies while his name is on the dotted line after 1999 and during the very time frame mucho plug pulling was going on.
His recent spin of "retroactively" retiring in 1999 requires even the most ignorant of the nattering naybobs of nutjobbery to suspend all common sense. Either he lied to the SEC or he lied on his disclosures. Both can not be true. You will see this story gain much more traction I promise."You were not there for the beginning. You will not be there for the end. Your knowledge of what is going on can only be superficial and relative" William S. Burroughs

And we must not ignore that Hollywood is obviously out to get Mittens. Why else would those California elites name the latest Batman villain Bane?

You seem to forget the huge Obama scandal going on right now.. It is the same scandal that has rocked the Obama administration from the very start. He has the unlucky habit of being right about inconvenient facts.
