Obviously in the context of the story it is a true fact about Jesus that he had a wrist watch. But it's still anachronistic.
Or perhaps the lack of firearms in a story with Rolexes is an anachronism...

Love your enemies!

I've been having this proposal for a while now. I think I started a thread about it.
There are undoubtedly many many many devout christians in the world, yes? What I propose is they simulate what Noah and his family went through. What I mean is this.
(1) Pick out 10 people from all the firm believers out there.
(2) Give these 10 people the tools that were available during the bronze age.
(3) Have them build the ark.
(4) When the ark is finished, we need 2 of every species in the world. But since it could have been a divine event that the animals all ended up in the ark, we'll have modern equipments transport those animals to the site and into the ark.
(5) Lock up the ark with all the animals and the 10 volunteers.
(6) Wait a year.
(7) Open up the ark after 1 year and see what we can find in there.
Seems like a simple experiment. I don't know why the couple billion christians haven't performed this experiment yet. It should be a sure way to convert many many people.

Just so the creationists won't think we're letting you slide, allow me to nitpick:

It's eight people, not ten. (Mr. and Mrs. Noah, Mr. and Mrs. Ham, Mrs. and Mrs. Shem, Mr. and Mrs. Japheth).
Iron tools were available in the story. (Read the thread).

Fine, give them 8 people instead of 10.

Fine, give them iron tools. In fact, give them all the modern day tools that they could possibly want.

It will float with most of the ark under the surface of the water.

Float or sink; displace or fill
It will float with most of the ark under the surface of the water.
You didn't put a smilie on that statement.
Are you saying that the ark will displace the water or fill with water?

Re: Float or sink; displace or fill
It will displace the water without sinking.
