Ok i realise this borders on spam but hear me out.
By chance i stumbeled on the game NationStates | create your own country. Its a political game were you have your country and you manage it by passing laws, its a good way to see what kind of a country your ideals would make. And its also good a few good laughs
My ideals are curently screwing with the economy and political freedoms while civil rights are verry high. i also spend over 36% of my gdp on welfare.
short description of my country lol
"The Dictatorship of Rafko is a tiny, genial nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 7 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The enormous government is mainly concerned with Social Welfare, although Education and Healthcare are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 36%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Retail industries.
Organ donation is compulsory, the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas, meat is a luxury afforded only to the wealthy, and euthanasia is legal. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control. Rafko's national animal is the flea, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the rafko."
Curently legalising gay marriage
curently classified as Ordinary Caring Intelligent World Citizens
and my friends country lol
"The Dominion of Lojzze is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed population of 7 million are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 44%, but much higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is led by the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Trout Farming industries.
Voting is compulsory, the nation is ravaged by daily union strikes, marijuana is legal in the privacy of your own home, and the tenet of free speech is held dear. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Lojzze's national animal is the Penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Sekl."
Yesterday he was clasified as a psyhotic dictator whos people where barcoded to track their movements lol i guess his free speach law and marihuana law made him jump a few catagories up to Mouth-Breathing Creationists
Its a houmorus way to find out what kind of a country your ideals would make.

Quite fun indeed. Just created this one:
The Holy Empire of Limburgia Sanctum is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
The large government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Law & Order. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 22%. A large private sector is led by the Woodchip Exports, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Beef-Based Agriculture industries.
Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Limburgia Sanctum's national animal is the Sloth, and its currency is the Limburgian.

Its a houmorus way to find out what kind of a country your ideals would make.
Only if the simulation would actually work.
I once dreamed of writing a simulation which would work, insofar as it would function according to real economic laws rather than the biases of the programmer. Five years later I had proved several original and important theorems in neo-classical economics, and I knew that I'd need a supercomputer to calculate the results.

If you could DR. A you'd be able to write your own ticket!

I can't believe that one is still around. There are better ones with more interaction, maps, and the ability to buy and seel to affect your state. This one is ok, I mean it is a good intro that is super easy and basic.

Care to provide some examples, links?

Well I don't have a supercomputer ... and my own ticket, were I to write it, would not actually look like that.

I've been on NationStates for years. I won't say what my nation's name is because I like to keep my Internet compartmentalized but I will say that there is bacon involved.
It isn't supposed to be a simulation; it's a game. To me, role-playing in the Forum is the best part.

I made a nation and joined a region..
But what do you get to do? Are the two "issues" per day the only decisions you get to make about your country?
I thought this would be more like OGame/Planetarion and games like that.

Geez, seems like you created The Netherlands.
Whatever it is, it sounds awesome!

If only we were ruled by a benevolent dictator, instead of the populist politicians that are in power now, or soon will be, if the polls are anything to go on.
Whatever it is, it sounds awesome!
Thanks!

In the sidebar, click on "Forum" and check out "Factbooks and National Information", "NationStates", "International Incidents", etc. (Avoid "General Discussion" like the plague.)

Some nitpicks
While I still think it is a fun site, there are some things I noticed.
Some issues and the solutions you accept do not translate well to the result that is displayed after the legislation passes.
For example, when asked about the animal liberation front, I chose the side that we should legislate to prevent unnecessary suffering in animals. The result from that was that "meat eating is froned upon", how does that square with each other?
The other one was with cloning. I selected the option tht scientist could clone embryos for research, however, the result was that "scientists regularly clone humans for research".
Other than that, it's fine.

Woa thanks! I didn't know this game existed, it's fun as hell!
Feel free to visit us, it's almost tourist-friendly
The Armed Republic of Schwartzy is a tiny, economically powerful nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 18 million are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, moralistic, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 42%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.
The government is avowedly atheist, military spending recently hit a new high, politicians are often seen with soldiers pointing guns at their heads, and citizens have reported seeing strange rays of light emanating from the moon. Crime is a problem. Schwartzy's national animal is the Beast, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Conan.
