I like that quote.
I am not trying to be funny or insulting when I ask: Does anybody else detect that Buzzcola is really a raging self-loathing homosexual?
I am 100% serious. I have a christian sister-in-law who could be Buzz's twin sibling. The rail against the same made up stuff. I think the unproportional rage they have for the oppressed can only be a projection onto themselves. There's just no way a mentally competent follower of jesus would act this way. Just an opinion, I don't have any other theory that would even come close.
I'm off-topic, I won't reply. Back to the presidential race . . .

I did a search and I couldn't find a single mainstream news source calling this lie out.
This is what perplexes me about the US.
Having lived there for three years, (2005-2008 the run up to the Obama-McCain election) I cannot understand how much crap these people can spew seemingly without any public rebuttal.
Where are the journalists that should be reporting on these kinds of lies?

You mean from the "liberal" media?

where are the journalists?
That's a good question.
In the US there used to be several rules relating to news reporting. The first was the "Chinese Wall" that said there had to be an absolute separation between the news department and entertainment or advertising. The second was called "The Fairness Doctrine" which required media outlets provide equal time to opposing points of view. A third limited the number of media outlets that could be owned by any one entity.
All three were torn down during the Christian Right Coup that took over the Republican Party and led to the election of Ronald Reagan.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Get The Whole True[/i] Story From Fox
Banes Capitol is just one example where they fail to report that the charges against Romney applied to well after he was out of it.
Well, to start with Buz, it's Bain Capital, not "Banes Capitol", which already proves that you know the least about the issue of anyone here. Secondly, private equity financing isn't something that Bain Capital picked up after Mitt Romney left, it's what Bain Capital was doing because it's what Mitt Romney decided they should do:
quote:
Beginning in 1989, the firm, which began as a venture capital source investing in start-up companies, adjusted its strategy to focus on leveraged buyouts and growth capital investments in more mature companies.[26] By the end of 1990, Bain had raised $175 million of capital and financed 35 companies with combined revenues of $3.5 billion.[27]
In July 1992, Bain acquired Ampad (originally American Pad & Paper) from Mead Corporation, which had acquired the company in 1986. Mead which had been experiencing difficulties integrating Ampad's products into its existing product lines, generated a cash gain of $56 million on the sale.[28] Under Bain's ownership, the company enjoyed a significant growth in sales from $106.7 million in 1992 to $583.9 million in 1996, when the company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Under Bain's ownership, the company also made a number of acquisitions, including writing products company SCM in July 1994, brand names from the American Trading and Production Corporation in August 1995, WR Acquisition and the Williamhouse-Regency Division of Delaware, Inc. in October, 1995, Niagara Envelope Company, Inc. in 1996, and Shade/Allied, Inc. in February 1997.[29] Ampad's revenue began to decline in 1997 and the company laid off employees and closed production facilities to maintain profitability. However, the company filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and the assets were acquired in 2003 by Crescent Investments. Bain's ownership of Ampad, is estimated to have generated more than $100 million in profit for Bain.[30]
Mitt Romney was CEO of Bain Capital until 2002.
You claim to denounce CNN, all the while you haven't a clue as to their fair and balanced reportiing airs and all of the pertinent info they air which the lamestreams deprive you of.
Did you mean Fox? This is an uncharacteristically full-throated defense of the mainstream media otherwise.

Really Mr. Ryan are you that ignorant?
Quote from Ryno's interview yesterday.
quote:
His statements were outrageous, over the pail. I don’t know anybody who would agree with that. Rape is rape period, end of story,
Over the pail? Or you freaking serious? A man running for VP doesn't even know the idiom or what it really means.
The idiom is Beyond the Pale. Freaking morons.
Don't try to tell me he meant pale and it was transcribed wrong. Over the Pale makes him seem even more ignorant.

Re: Get The Whole True[/i] Story From Fox
I guess it's theoretically possible that, if our freedoms were being stolen as you say, that some channels might decide to not report this due to bias. But wouldn't we notice the missing freedoms in our day to day lives? Wouldn't I only be able to buy books with a liberal slant, for instance, or only be allowed to buy a car with a traditional internal cumbustion engine if I offset it by installing a windmill on my roof? Something like that? I haven't noticed any such reduction in freedoms. Maybe I'm just dense. Maybe they'll hit me eventually. Maybe I'll show up to my voting place and find I can't vote without an ID or something. That would suck.
Added by edit: and let me beat you to it: yes, technically, because of the individual mandate I no longer have the freedom to not have health insurance AND not pay a penalty, both (unless I fall below a certain income level). I didn't think of that one because I'm neither stupid nor brave enough to try and go without health insurance.

I have a friend who works the oil fields on the north slope of Alaska. He actually has co-workers who dug pits in their back yards, lined them with plastic, filled it in with motor oil, and then dumped most of their gun collection into the pit, and then covered the whole thing. They were absolutely sure that Obama was going to take away their guns. Unbelievable . . . I know. It really happened.
I would just love to ask one of those guys if a G-man had been to their house looking for their guns. Sadly, they will be just as paranoid this election as the last. Republicans will use the same scare tactics and lies that they always use, and many will agree with them.

Gun storage
He actually has co-workers who dug pits in their back yards, lined them with plastic, filled it in with motor oil, and then dumped most of their gun collection into the pit, and then covered the whole thing.
There are some morons up in this area that did this. They literally dumped their guns into a pit of oil. If you want your guns to be in good working order at a later date this is not the way to do it.
From what I understand the guns they put in were a couple AK like rifles, an AR knockoff, a couple home defense shotguns and a few 9mm and 357's. From what I have been told by someone that claims to have been there, they did not disassemble the weapons at all.
Imagine what the wooden gun stocks will be like when they pull the guns out. Oil also has a nasty tendency to break down plastics. I wonder how long it took the oil to break down the plastic sheeting.
They did to themselves what they feared Obama would do. They took away their own guns. What good is it to have the guns if they have no ready access to them.
When, in the words of the nutballs, "the shit hits the fan", they will not have access to these weapons they are so afraid of losing.

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?
Check out the bottom line....
quote:
He’s going to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN, Lubbock County Judge Tom Head said this week on a Fox News television station in the north Texas Panhandle region. Then what happens? I’m thinking worst-case scenario -- civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe.
We’re talking take up arms and get rid of the guy, he said. Obama’s response? ``He’s going to send in UN troops. I don’t want them in Lubbock.
Head offered the scenarios as partial justification for a 1.7 percent property-tax increase to hire more deputies and add other law-enforcement resources.

Nutz
Lubbock is 105 miles north from where I am, even less for Coragyps. Those distances in West Texas are psychologically similar to 20 miles in the Northeast of the US or 10 km in the UK or most the rest of Europe.
As we have been saying, welcome to our world.
