Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
UNCOVERED: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
Ours is a factual story that provides a rare glimpse and insight into the real Mitt Romney. Does he really relate to the average American? As President, would he impose his beliefs on others? Is he really Christian?
When you buy a home and its contents from someone you really learn a lot about their true character, values and beliefs. And rarely does anyone have the opportunity to learn how a politician acts out of the public’s view and when they are not running for office. Well, this actually happened. When? Only a few years ago, in spring of 2009 when we bought Mitt Romney’s Park City, Utah home. His family lived in this home for about ten years. Because our deal included most of the contents, we gained a unique and unusual perspective of him and his family of which most Americans are completely unaware. What we experienced was not what we expected. Not the stereotypical actions of a millionaire and more importantly not the image most Americans have of Mitt Romney.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
I'm not sure how much insight we could get into the character of the man by buying one of his houses.
Which of his houses is that? Is it the one that cost twelve million dollars and has an elevator for his cars, or is it another more folksy and down-to-earth house?

Yes. Someone who bought one of Romney's houses thinks that he's a nice guy.
Something about that article stinks to me --- actually reading it over it's a huge honking lie, isn't it? --- but I can perfectly well believe that it has a grain of truth in it and that someone who bought one of Romney's houses does indeed think that he's a nice guy.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
Who the heck sells their picture of Jesus with their house? And America wants to know: is it the Blond, Blue-Eyed Jesus Picture or an Aramaic rabbi picture? Did the picture's eyes follow the Romneys around their bedroom to see if they ever removed their Magic Underwear?
I wonder if our current pres has sold any houses to people who will Tell All?

Check out the comments below the article. That's how you are supposed to react to this "Inside the Home" article.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
Doesn't it say even more about him that this is the home he left behind?
Perhaps the article best explains why Romney found the old house inadequate:
quote:
"UNCOVERED: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family":
No swimming pool, tennis court or movie theater. There are no maid, butler or nanny quarters. Clearly Ann and Mitt raised their kids. No gold faucets, no fancy silverware. The kitchen was simple and typical of an average three bedroom home, very much like those in which we were raised. We were struck by the discovery that most of the art, furniture and all the curtains were made in America and many by local craftsmen. Most of the linens were of good quality but not what is found at very high end, exclusive stores. The master bedroom pillows had tags from the average American’s most popular discount store.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
OK - so the family's ski house was folksy & warm. Oh, & it had a picture of Jesus. It's obvious this wasn't a home for the Romney clan, full time.
By the time Mittens & his brood bought this place the kids were grown & having families of their own. Selling it 10 years later w/ contents was an easy out, not a sacrifice.
He screwed the pooch on foreign policy this week. Nice background story to try & humanize him, but he's still a clueless millionaire as far as regular Americans are concerned.

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family
What's the point? That the Romenys once owned a starter house that wasn't the 12 million dollar estate that is now his beach house? A beach house with a garage that dwarfs the size of a house most regular folks live in?
How about some meat and potatoes to go with that puff piece?

Re: Inside the Home of the Private Romney Family

Yeah, but think about it. As I said, that's one of his houses. That's his skiing home. It's not his actual home. That's the house that he bought so that he could leave it empty for 50 weeks in the year but so that when he wanted to take his kids skiing, he'd have somewhere to stay.
And then we're told what a humble ordinary guy he is that it looks much like the home that a middle-class family would spend a lifetime paying off the mortgage on? We should think he understands what it's like to be an ordinary American because he bought as a rich man's toy what the rest of us would consider a necessity --- or an unattainable aspiration?

Re: Mother Jones on the real Mitt Romney
He displayed a high degree of disgust for nearly half of his fellow citizens, lumping all Obama voters into a mass of shiftless moochers who don't contribute much, if anything, to society,
And guess what? so do the rest of the conservatives that will vote for him and most likely, so do ALL of the people at that dinner. This coming out will do nothing at all to disenfranchise anyone not already disenfranchised by him and it will strengthen the bond with those already bonded with him.
