Re: The Love Song of AARP and Obama
An insurance company was for ObamaCare!?!? Who would have thought!
Yea you know what, a lot of us liberals ARE angry about that. I would have preferred that the insurance companys die a miserable death so that we could actually reduce the cost of healthcare.
But even though we are unhappy about that, we all know one thing. ObamaCare is an undeniable step in the right direction. States can implement their own single payer systems like it looks like Vermont is going to and California was only 2 votes away from doing. So even though we didn't get real health care reform, we got a viable path to it.
And its not as if ANYONE expect Mitt Romney to be the person that rises above. Those exact same companies would be at his table planning exactly how they are going to spend all the new medicare dollars they are going to get once they turn it into a cupon program.
Both parties have a problem with corporate influence. If you are angry about that too, then get on the bandwagon Move to Amend

BUT if objects for gratitude and admiration are our desire, do they not present themselves every hour to our eyes? Do we not see a fair creation prepared to receive us the instant we are born --a world furnished to our hands, that cost us nothing? Is it we that light up the sun; that pour down the rain; and fill the earth with abundance? Whether we sleep or wake, the vast machinery of the universe still goes on. Are these things, and the blessings they indicate in future, nothing to, us? Can our gross feelings be excited by no other subjects than tragedy and suicide? Or is the gloomy pride of man become so intolerable, that nothing can flatter it but a sacrifice of the Creator? --Thomas Paine

Don't forget that he saved the Olympics...
... with a government bailout.

If we long for our planet to be important, there is something we can do about it. We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depth of our answers. --Carl Sagan
