Re: Jumping Today
Thanks for the heads-up F&L, got it on now.
And I thought it took forever to get up to 15,000ft for a jump!
Fingers crossed for Felix, he is one hell of a guy. Can't wait to get my business sold then I can get back to crazy shit

Re: Jumping Today
He's now above Joseph Kettinger's record jump height and just 2000ft off the highest ever manned balloon flight.
However, he does have this visor-heater issue. If they can't get this working, this will probably end up being "simply" the highest ever manned balloon ride.

Re: Jumping Today - world record ballonn flight!
He was spinning pretty bad just before the chute opened. They had said that the shoot would automatically deploy during a spin if he went over a certain amount of G-force. I don't know if that's what happened or not, but that would be my guess.
No, Felix managed to regain control of the spin himself, despite it being a very difficult task when encased in a pressure suit. But his visor was misting up to the point of being unable to see his instruments - in particular his altimeter. He deployed the chute because he could no longer be sure of how close he was to the target deployment height.
