Re: February bucks the trend
Have you looked at the various US or World climate maps?
Do you know the current extent of drought in those parts of the US that produce a considerable amount of our food?
Have you followed the history of wild fires over the last decade and the losses over the last few years?

Re: Perspective
There is no effort going into even planning for the changes that will be needed that I am aware of.
Consider agriculture, an industry that is simply dependent on weather conditions and where many critical factors needed for success are totally beyond our current control. Will coming changes necessitate changes in what is grown or where basic staples are grown? Are we building the infrastructure that will be needed to get water where it can be used from where it can be found?
What is the lead time to build a new dam or pipelines?

This is why me and many others are not convinced of manmade global warming.
And that is a great example of your utter lunacy and asininity.
Do you not understand that the very best case scenario is if global warming is 100% man made?
It's yet another example of the Christian Rights total inability to think beyond a 15 second sound-bite.
The issue is that change is happening.
The only things that are in our control are those man made contributing behaviors. If global warming is NOT mostly man made then we are really in deep shit.

Again... try to understand
It really is simple.
The BEST CASE scenario is that global warming is the result of man produced products.
If the cause is not man made we will have to not just stop all man made pollutants but also try to find a way to reduce the natural produced causes.
Think.

The point is...
If Global Warming is caused by primarily Natural Processes like the sun, then we need to not just reduce the human contributions, we need to totally eliminate them while at the same time figuring out methods to counteract the effects caused by the sun as well as investing in the infrastructure needed to mitigate the negative effects on human civilization.

You should believe in Global Warming.
Once you cross that threshold you should ask the next questions.
Will global warming have a negative impact?
Which of the things contributing to global warming can humans change?
AbE:
The best reason for you to hope and believe that Global Warming is anthropomorphic climate change is that that is the best possible scenario if humans are to survive it. It is only those anthropomorphic contributions that we have any hope of addressing in a reasonable period of time.

Re: Solution Sceptic
I fear that you are correct but understand that those who argue about the cause are the real threat to doing anything at all.
We need to understand that so many of the needed remedial solutions will take generations to complete. Infrastructure is slow to construct. If new pipelines or dams or levees or sea walls or detention ponds or roads or power lines or plants are needed we can expect each to take about a quarter century from proposal to completion.
We need to be asking where we can relocate the millions of people most effective, about how to rebuild NYC and all other major metropolitan areas so the subways are no longer subject to flooding, about relocating all power distribution systems so that they are underground (that one might be possible in a half century if we started today).
We need to understand that the financial costs involved will fall mostly on the Industrialized Nations.
But nothing will even get considered until we can get past those people who still want to argue about "Whose fault is it?"

Thrive???????
You make an interesting claim. Where is the evidence to support that assertion?

Re: Thrive???????
That is not evidence as you should know.
Are all plants edible?
Do plants need anything other than CO2?
Do humans forage in the field for plant food?
Think.
