I did my bit and voted for Obama last week during early voting. Unfortunately it appears that Mittens may win my state (Florida).

The polls I see call Florida too close to call.

Well it's leaning ever so slightly to the right and so it's a light shade of pink on fivethirtyeight, so it may not yet be a done deal. I thought that after dealing with govenor Rick Scott would have steered more people away from the GOP.

I'm in California...my state is a foregone conclusion.
I'll be trying to do some good on the other items up for a vote tomorrow, though. The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it. - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity. — Albert Camus "...the pious hope that by combining numerous little turds ofvariously tainted data, one can obtain a valuable result; but in fact, the outcome is merely a larger than average pile of shit." Barash, David 1995.

he's suuuuch a LIBERAL! I've seen any number of elections here in NC with commercials just like that. Not so many this year. Boy how NC has changed since I lived there in 90's. I did live in a more rural area so not as progressive as the cities. Still I was amazed at the racist attitudes there at the time.
My father still lives there and I do see a marked change from when I lived thereFacts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

On the fence here in NC according to this... I live near one of the public library branches that serves as an NC early voting location. The place was packed Saturday afternoon. I think NC turnout is going to be huge. It also seems as though Republicans will do a little better on college campuses than they did last election. I voted early. My wife voted, and actually took a 50 year old who had never voted before to the polls last week. Voting in NC has been made so easy. You'd think it were some kind of fundamental right or something.
