Re: ForeverYoung Thread
Hi Dr A,
I just looked at your posts in this thread. You're trying to discuss the topic with him here. Sorry if I wasn't clear - obviously the other thread is for anyone who would rather discuss ForeverYoung than the topic.

He ran unopposed, but check out the list of write-ins the loyal opposition came up with. Pretty creative, some of them.

Pretty creative, some of them.
Hands down, my favorite write-in was "David Foster Wallace".
I was forced to look this one up, and now I have to admit that having to do so means I'm an unread, ignorant boob. I'm not going to spoil this any further for anyone who does not know David Wallace. Look him up.

Cthulhu was also on the list. After reading some of Son Goku's posts, that one gave me a laugh too.

Re: Write-in votes
Omigod, I know who David Foster Wallace is, or was. I read his first book when it first came out because it received good reviews from NPR and Newsweek. What about him made you suggest looking him up?
I should still have his first book (The Broom of the System), but it's not on my bookshelf - have no idea why.

Re: Write-in votes
I suggested looking him up because I thought writing him in on the Georgia ballot was an apt tribute to a writer who had died way too young. I was also admitting to some embarassment about how little I have read lately beyond that which I have to read.
I was also kinda hoping everyone else was as ignant as I. Thanks for failing to do your part on that.
