Hi hooah212002,
I know it's hardly a serious cancer of the type RAZD has, ... Untreated skin cancer can kill.
... Well, it came back. So now you need a biopsy to determine if it is cancer. The good news is that Obama was reelected and so Obamacare is here to stay, and possibly improve.
Message 13: ... I can't decide if I feel like people have a given right to be healthy if it comes at the (financial) expense of others. ... Universal health care is a social contract issue, imho, because you do not cause your illness, but are a random victim. This is the kind of thing that insurance is supposed to cover, but what makes it a social issue to me is that insurance companies make profits (big ones) off the misery of individuals.
Message 16: It's not because I got a general. Again, my personal opinion is that veterans should have lifetime government provided health care insurance in return for their service, regardless of reasons for termination. Enjoy. RAZD!
I must be physic, because I was thinking of you just a few moments ago while answering Dogmafood's OP about the point of life. Or maybe it's because I was thinking Zen-like...um, not-thoughts. "If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you can collect a lot of heads."

Hi Asgara,
RAZD, how are you doing, haven't seen you post since this message. As my brother reports, I am doing well. The chemo has left me weaker than previous sessions, more on the order of when I had the autogenic transplant. It also left me susceptible to the fall colds, which had me in bed for a while. My energy level is low, so I restricted my activities to the simpler things in life. Here are some pictures:
Message 26: ... With my clear PET/CT scan pre-chemo and my normal CEA, I am officially NED, No Evidence of Disease. ... Excellent news, thanks. I am currently NED as well, and just working on recovering my strength and energy. Enjoy. Edited by RAZD, : ... Hi again Asgara
In the news.... new chemo deliver method Cool stuff. I was dropped from the study that I had joined when I did not show any positive results and started have lymphodemic swelling in my legs. The large nodes in my groin were radiated and then I started a new program that had me in hospital for a week with 24/7 treatment for 5 days, going back every three weeks. Barely had I recovered from previous sessions before starting the next. and my hair is now growing back. My grandmother passed away just last month due to pancreatic cancer. It was diagnosed and then over in just over a month; the whole family tried to travel to see her one more time when it became clear that she had limited time, and the weekend we all chose for a last visit turned out to be her funeral.
I'm very sad to hear about Buz, but happy that you're still around to frustrate Straggler and myself with Venn diagrams, RAZD. Fuck cancer. The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it. - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity. — Albert Camus "...the pious hope that by combining numerous little turds ofvariously tainted data, one can obtain a valuable result; but in fact, the outcome is merely a larger than average pile of shit." Barash, David 1995.

I was at a very interesting lecture last Friday night, given by a cancer survivor. In short, she was in that final coma and slipping fast, but had a vision or near death experience or whatever, and walked out of the hospital a few weeks later cancer free.
I shared this URL with RAZD earlier, but after hearing about Buz thought I perhaps should share it with others. The lady's name is Anita Moorjani and she has a website at: http://www.anitamoorjani.com/ I met her at a book signing after the speech and was impressed. She has a book and other materials available, and it is possible that her message may help others. Certainly worth a try.

Well I unplugged from session 10 of 12 yesterday. Two more to go. I had a CT scan on the 18th and all is clear. There has been No Evidence of Disease since surgery on July 14. With clear scans and normal blood work, I'm thinking that there may be hope for those of us living with stage IV cancer.

But that doesn't mean I'll stop saying a prayer or three.

glad to hear it Asgara.
don't worry about looking over your shoulder though to see if it is coming back -- we are much more aware of it now and it's pretty hard to sneak up twice. I am still slowly getting my energy back. The white hair that came in is slowly being replaced by gray (looks like I need another dye job, as the roots are showing). Had enough energy to get the new heating system working for the kitchen and diningroom -- radiant floor heat with hot water tubing between the joists in the basement. It is a real pleasure to sit with bare feet on a warm floor while reading a book.
