Re: Love It or Leave It?
It wasn't politically incorrect, it was simply sophomoric.

Do we need unity?
Unity is easy to achieve, all that is needed is a Monarch or Dictator. My way or the highway.

Re: Do we need unity?
E Pluribis Unum was replace as the motto or did you miss that.
Out of many one implies consensus which is NOT unity or total agreement; consensus says "I can live with that" not "I like that" or even "I agree with that".
We currently have consensus regarding the USA electoral and governmental system; the populus says "I can live with that."

Add Constitutional since that is also a limit.

Democracy
The US is only classified as a Democracy by the uniformed or when speaking colloquially. It has some democratic features but also those of a Republic and a Constitutional state.

Re: Democracy
And as I said, it is speaking colloquially, informally and goes on to list more precise subdivisions.

Re: Democracy
Yet you provided a list of at least some of the various forms of government that it was including within the category. They are NOT using the term to describe any specific type of government but rather as an informal broad classification.

Re: Democracy
Formal broad classification?
LOL
It is imprecise. It is vague.
It is certainly not a description of the US system but certainly good enough for a bumper sticker.
The problem is that the US population seems to be uneducated about our own Governmental system and describing it as a Democracy when the term is as vague as the one you reference simply allows people to avoid learning.
