Buz often would send me private messages, as support, encouragement, or just friendly greetings. He often told me stories of his sons beloved adopted children from China. In reality he was a stranger to me, but in another sense I feel a sadness of losing an old friend. He was clearly passionate about his ideas, while at the same time remaining unfailingly tolerant and polite to others. I often felt bad for him having to fend off so many critics at one time, but he never seemed to mind.
Sincere condolences to all his family. He made a lot of friends here.

Rest in peace Buzz. EvC is a lesser place today with your absence.

Buzsaw's member ID will be his forever - member accounts are never deleted, so ID's do not get reassigned. As for a permanent memorial, I don't have any good ideas myself. Maybe he *should* be added to the Tribute Thread for the Recently Passed Greats thread.

Goodbye Buz
I was deeply saddened to hear about Buz's death. Me and Buz never agreed about damn near anything, but I never doubted his heart. He was a good guy with a generous spirit. He never seemed to blow his lid, despite frequent provocation. He always made an effort to welcome new members. He seemed like the sort of person who anyone would be lucky to know. My profoundest sympathies go out to his wife and all his family and friends.
Bye Buz, I'll miss you.

Longtime EvC Biblical Creationist Buzsaw has died, according to his wife whom I talked with today.
I wonder if his wife is aware of his messages here? Or has read them?
I almost think that would *not* be a good idea, but I don't know. What do you guys think? It might be an interesting window into his mind, but too, you never know what you might find when poeple think they're being anonymous.

Yeah that is what he said.
Wonder whatever happened to the new lyx2no? Been over a year since we heard from him.
Am I mistaken or wasn't he related to someone else here? Probably have my memories confused.

Re: others
Awww... I didn't know that robinrohan had passed away, nor some of the other tragedies that have befallen some of our members. But thanks for the link to the play. I remember laughing hysterically.
I was just thinking of NosyNed the other day. Even though I've rarely met any of my internet friends, I do think of them and hope that they are well when they are no longer around.

A snapshot of our past
She wanted me to send a link to this memoriam thread...so i did. Its up to her and the family whether they end up reading all of Buzsaws many messages. I think that all of us would be embarrassed if our families read everything we have ever written....I for one can be quite an ass at times...blissfully naive other times. Im only "on point" around 5% of the time, and thats my own estimation anyway.

Like many here, I disagreed with Buz on...well, a lot of things.
But he was a good guy. He was capable of making me furiously frustrated...but he was always polite, welcomed new members, and always seemed wholly genuine in his convictions, which included being a decent human being.
He'll be missed.

The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.
- Francis Bacon
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers
A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity. — Albert Camus
"...the pious hope that by combining numerous little turds of
variously tainted data, one can obtain a valuable result; but in fact, the
outcome is merely a larger than average pile of shit." Barash, David 1995.

Bloody hell, Buz, now we'll never be able to finish up those old cosmology discussions. I'd like to say that I've never found anyone more annoying than you, when trying to teach them hardcore physics, but I have to say that ICANT has you beat - just
You taught me precisely where my patience runs out; and just how many times my stubborness would drive me back for one last attempt...
Thanks for these memories - you're giving me a big grin thinking on them.
And did we ever find out exactly what it was that Buz saw?

Although I almost never post, I'm a daily lurker here. Buzsaw's posts for me were a delightful comedy.
Delusional? Check.
Misinformed? Check.
Goalpost shifting? Check.
Angry?
Vicious?
Demeaning? NEVER.
Rest in peace, gentle Buzsaw.
