Re: Forever having another meltdown?
Deep down inside him, I believe, there is a good and sane person fighting to get out.
Thanks for the reminder Doc. I had decided that myself awhile back.

Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846)
The apathy of the people is enough to make every statue leap from its pedestal and hasten the resurrection of the dead. William Lloyd Garrison.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Frederick Douglass

Is this new thread Message 1 legitimate? I don't see any question posed.

Aren't you concerned that this warning won't be read?

I don't think he is having difficulties. I think he is posting exactly what he intends to post. It's time for a warning shot across the bow.

Perhaps we can avoid some additional suspensions if this children discussion is taken to the Whine list.

Off topic moderation
What criterion is used to mark discussion off topic in a coffee house thread entitled "Off Topic Posts aka The Rabbit Trail Thread"? Perhaps the moderation of what was intended to be a catchall thread for off topic discussion is a bit heavy handed.

Spill on aisle four.
This Message 1 stuff doesn't belong here. Perhaps Mr. k could use a little instruction on how to propose topics.

I like kofh2u's graphic organizers. At a glance I am able to instantly appreciate the forcelessness of his arguments.

Apparently Sunshaker has decided today that his 172 element periodic table is germane to multiple threads. I disagree.

like the "strain"
What does the word in scare quotes mean. Strain already has an exact meaning. Strain is a mechanical deformation produced by stress.

Re: Grump, grump
Sure, the topic does needlessly mock and insult Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and who knows who else, and yes it is another one of Greatest I Am's poorly thought out topics, but maybe someone could take some time to process the proposed topic, "Religions are fairy tales for adults"? Maybe vet the thing?

History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King
If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? Scott Adams
