Actually, you'd have to murder a whole lot of people to wipe out all the single-parent families. Were you thinking of targeting the parents or the children?
Definitely.Bennett said it wasn't ethical, reasonable, of practical to abort every illegitimate baby, or double what Planned Parenthood has accomplished to date. But that would do the job of "targeting the woulkd be Single Mother parents of the 1.5 million illegitimate children we add to Welfare Rolls annually? Of course I recommend we start promting early marriages and no divorce except for adultery in order to produce an outlet for the sexual activity between ages 12-26, which is the baby making years. Perhaps we could pay money to husbands who are the natural fathers of the children living with him and his wife. And I would recommend raising the Minimum Wage so one working parent could support a family, too. Whether one agrees with me on this is irrelevent to the recommendation that we change the sexually promissive and promiscuous culture as adults who now see what we are making the young people suffer through and the abuse their fatherless children experience today. I would recommend that Religion be supported in spite of what educated people might think about Genesis, because God has always been the third eye young people thought could see into parked cars and homes of latch key teenagers.

BBC Radio 4 - Letter from America by Alistair Cooke, America's problem with gun ownership is a radio broadcast from 1993 by Alistair Cook in a series (the longest of it's type ever, anywhere) called Letter from America. He's a historian and journalist and talks about the events and issues that brought in the Brady Act. It's only 14 minutes long and well worth listening too as it could be today, again. Except, dear kofh2u, that the figures show the murder rate is declining and is now as low as it's been in a hundred years. But we better control guns anyway, just in case?

Let's do some comparison between a state that is way out pro gun, and very little gun control verses a state of equivalent size that has fairly stringent gun control...
Let's compare Texas and NY. People from Texas have, on a number of occations, bragged to me how low their crime rate is. So, let's look at the figures for 2010 TExas.. Murder rate per 100K 5.0 Rape per 100K 30.5 Robbery per 100K 130.. Aggravated Assault 284. New York Murder rate per 100K 4.5 Rape per 100K 14.3 Robbery per 100K 148 Aggravated Assault 226. Gosh, those extra .5 murders, 15 rapes, and 58 aggravated assaults sure are worth those extra 18 robberies. The violent crime total is 450 for Texas (per 100K), and 392 for NY .. (including NYC). Dang, that gun control works so good. Crime Rate by State, 2014 Edited by ramoss, : To show source

Hi ramoss,
Gosh, those extra .5 murders, 15 rapes, and 58 aggravated assaults sure are worth those extra 18 robberies. Lol. And how many robberies were for the purpose of obtaining guns? Add into the equation that NY has several "gun gateway" states nearby that can be driven to within a day (or take a bus), while you have to drive much further from texas to NOT be able to buy a gun. Yes, I am sure many of the guns in NY are not obtained in State. I was, however, comparing the crime rate from a state with loose gun control, with a state with strict gun control. You have to compare states of equal population density, since population density does make a difference. I will also point out that NY does not have a death penality, and Texas does. If the blathering about 'when there are more executions, there are less murders' is correct (I noticed no links to the original data is provided), when what we would expect to see a lower murder rate in state WITH a death penalty than without the death penalty. If we look at the states that have the death penality, they uniformly have higher than average murder rates.

You have to compare states of equal population density, since population density does make a difference. That's a pretty sound principle, which is why I was surprised that you chose to compare NY and Texas, which have nowhere near a similar population density: Edited by crashfrog, : No reason given.

They have about the same number of people in the state, and similar cities. Cut out the wide open places that no one lives, you will get the same density.
NY definitely has higher density , since is compacted into a smaller place... but Texas c;lumps together in a similar pattern outside of the wide open spaces. You would expect a higher density to have a higher crime rate.. and when comparing Texas and NY, the opposite is true. It would probably be more accurate to examine murder rates by cities... Let's do one of the highest density population in a gun control area.. NYC. and compare it to othercities that are in gun rights areas. From U.S. Census Bureau: Page not found (per 100K )NYC Murder 5.6 Rape 9.9 Robbery 221 Assault 315 Dallas Murder 12.9 Rape 37.5 Robbery 446 Assault 315 Austin Murder 2.9 Rape 34.5 Robbery 184 Assault 302 (Been to austin, wonderful city) Huston Murder 12.6 Rape 36.2 Robbery 500 Assault 577 NYC has the most stringent gun control in the state.. and while Ausin has less murder , the rape in the other cities are very much higher. Therefore, it's not 'gun control' or lack there of that causes it. I suspect it is police presence. Edited by ramoss, : No reason given.

Apparently you see the hypocricy of what Herr Doctor is saying, in that murder rates have declined while guns have multiplied in our society tremendously in quantity and fire power. This also needs consideration for the observation that murders blossomed and doubled after 1960 when America began paying Single Mothers to have fatherless bastards:

I hate to even engage with you on this, because it's fairly clear you're an idiot, but I guess I'd like to see how deep the idiocy goes. Every Western nation "pays single mothers" to "have fatherless bastards," why would that uniquely be the cause of a high murder rate in only the US?

... and more shot today. Christmas Eve. It seems easy to make a statement with a gun.

1) The first thing we idiots here need agree upon is whether indeed, the killers are statistically men who have been raised by Single Mothers, here in America.
Before we discuss taking the guns away from people, that seems rational, to discover just who the killers actually are, here.Or, do you find that idiotic??? 2) The facts seem to indicate that 70% of all violent crimes in general are by men, mostly, who had been raised in fatherless families,... by mothers living under the poverty levels in most cases, but not always as this tragedy of 20 school children is an example. Half the murders in USA are by Black men, representing only 12% of the population. The other half of the murders are by Whites, representing 80% of the population. 3) We might then note that 70% of the Black Community is on Welfare, explaining mathematically how 12% of the population kills as many people as the whole 80% which is not Black. 4) Then we might want to examine facts like ghettos, where large numbers of Single Mothers are housed together forcing all the playmates/schoolmates of their children to associate with other fatherless kids and gang members. Remember that three idiots honestly reasoning together is better than one idiot flabbergasted at the social problem and floundering around with a lot of silly questions that are unimportant in regard to whats what in America.
