Re: Re:Makers Mark to be watered down?
This is upsetting as I think when one buys a bottle of spirits it should not be watered down.
Spirits are already watered down from 190 proof (~95%) out of the still, to whatever percentage they want in the bottle on the shelf.

What's worse is it gets watered down yet again on the way out.

I gonna give Ol GrandDad a try. I have been reading some favorable reviews. It seems a bit crappy for a Bourbon distillery to decide, "oh we can makes more money if we water it down more. Stupid alcoholics wont notice the difference and our shit is so good they would never switch."

Re: Re:Makers Mark to be watered down?
Looks like we need a new thread on this.
I'm only a bourbon drinker (and Maker's Mark is the preferred tipple) when I visit an old Texan mate now living in Colarado. I take him cask strenth Lafroaigh scotch, he feeds me MM.
It's the best example of the 'special relationship' that we have.
Cask stregnth is how it comes out of the still - about 65% and really needs water to make it drinkable. The normal retail is 40%. Maker's Mark must be of the same order from the still - if it was 95% it would have been produced by a different method and lost all its flavour and simply be ethanol. (ie vodka)

Burgers don't kill people. People kill people by feeding them burgers.

If you weight 350 lbs. or more, you eat there free.
And they have a 10,000 calorie burger.
Is this a great country or what?

I make a lasagna that's only one calorie per serving. Mind you, a pan is ten thousand servings.

I think the fact that we have a 10,000 calorie burger speaks to our abilities as a nation to be the best at building burgers.

Exactly.
While those euros are feeding each other kebabs and meatballs of Flicka and Black Beauty, we're taking bountiful beefy goodness to the very edge, to the realm of life-and-death itself.
Glad to have you on the team!

Thought this was funny. Frogs aren't very intelligent, but they could be self aware and can eventually figure out when they are being screwed with. 27 sec video
