The First Mouseketeer
Annette Funicello was my generation, in fact she was born the same year I was, and one of the first things I ever got to see on television was the Mickey Mouse Club in which she starred. I only got to see it when we visited California relatives as my small town didn't have TV yet in those days. So she's an icon of my childhood.

Like most little boys at the time, I adored Annette even when I didn't like girls.

from that link we have:
Elvis Costello’s hate letter to Thatcher, Tramp the Dirt Down sample lyrics: when they finally put you in the ground, I’ll stand on your grave and tramp the dirt down may rank as the nastiest, but Billy Bragg was arguably better known for railing against the Iron Lady in song. He’s had more than one gem on the topic Thatcherites, Waiting for the Great Leap Forward, Between the Wars and will likely trot them out tonight for his show at MacEwan Hall at the University of Calgary.

Ding Dong over Thatcher song makes the BBC no better than China
Thatcher was Ronald Reagan's female equivalent: War criminal and enemy of humanity and unending supporter of the 1%. Rot in hell bitch.
Just as when ex-President Reagan died in America, there was unending glory heaped upon his vile corpse. Hardly a single bad word was uttered by the corporate media. Et tu BBC?

I don't believe very many people agree with "War criminal and enemy of humanity and unending supporter of the 1%. Rot in hell bitch."
She was democratically elected 3 times. She was extremely disliked by those that suffered from the destruction of the unions but even more thought it necessary. But the vast majority who disagreed with her would not agree with those sentiments.
I heard one of them ranting in that way on the radio, he was 24 years old and blamed her for the invasion of Iraq. You really had to be here in the 70’s to know what it was like.

Since I lived through the Reagan/Thatcher years, I feel I have a clue.
And I think "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" IS a similar WIDESPREAD sentiment to my "rot in hell Bitch" sentiment . . .

You think a children's tune from the Wizard of Oz is the same sentiment as saying 'rot in hell, bitch'? I disagree.
However, after enormous publicity, there have been only 10,600 sales so far - so there's a way to go to reach the 'millions' you claim agree with you.

I repeat, since I lived (as an adult) through the Reagan/Thatcher years, and their policies were VERY similar, I feel I have at least a clue.
Tang writes:

So if I showed up at your mother's funeral and started singing the song "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead", you would think I was merely singing a children's tune? Really?

Are you stating it only takes 10,600 sales to be automatically chosen for the BBC's chart-countdown radio show. Really?
Tangle, so far you only seem to be criticising me because I am speaking ill of the dead. But perhaps there is more to your reprimand? So I'll ask directly . . . Do you think Thatcher was actually a good leader for Britain/world . . . Is Britain/world better off because of her policies?

I'd think you were a no class sophomoric kid; someone to laugh at and pity.

So you weren't in the UK when she was in power. You therefore have as much of a clue about living in the UK with Thatcher as I have of living in the US with Reagan. Which is zilch.
So if I showed up at your mother's funeral and started singing the song "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead", you would think I was merely singing a children's tune? Really?
I'd think you were being a callous, unfeeling idiot, with no thought for the grieving friends and family and you'd be asked to leave. But if you started shouting rot in hell you bitch" I'd probably punch your fucking lights out. To coin a phrase.
Are you stating it only takes 10,600 sales to be automatically chosen for the BBC's chart-countdown radio show. Really?
My mistake, the most recent numbers are:
Ding Dong! sold 52,605 copies, more than 18,000 of them since last Friday after controversy began to mount — 5,700 behind Need U, which had a weekly sale of 58,321.
Anti-Thatcher campaign narrowly fails to take Ding Dong! to No 1 in charts | Margaret Thatcher | The Guardian
Tangle, so far you only seem to be criticising me because I am speaking ill of the dead. But perhaps there is more to your reprimand? So I'll ask directly . . . Do you think Thatcher was actually a good leader for Britain/world . . . Is Britain/world better off because of her policies?
Yes, she was a very good leader for the UK - at least for the first two terms. The UK was a basket case run by corrupt unions. The power was off - literally.
I didn't vote for her and I didn't agree with the Falklands at the time. But, in hindsight I think she was right; she got rid of Pinochet.
She should have been stopped earlier though - the privatisations went too far.
