it seems humans were creating petroglyphs in Nevada.
It seems that "What happens in Winnemucca Lake stays in Winnemucca Lake.

also dates floods
One of the neat things about that site is that part of the dating methods is based on the last time the carvings were covered by water; so the Biblical flood must have been about 4000 years before Adam & Steve anyway.

Dating pre-Flood floods
The Channeled Scablands in Eastern Washington, the Columbia Gorge and the Willamette Valley of Oregon were caused by floods released by periodic breaking of ice dams at the end of the last glacial period.
Between about 15,000 and 13,000 years ago, U.S. Geological Survey hydrologist Jim O'Connor and Spanish Center of Environmental Studies scientist Gerard Benito have found evidence of at least twenty-five massive floods.
Missoula floods - Wikipedia
These floods scoured significant portions of southern and eastern Washington, creating what are called the Channeled Scablands. This image shows the extent of the floods.
But the important thing about these huge floods is that scientists can identify and date them!
As noted, they date between 15,000 and 13,000 years ago.
Of equal importance: there is no evidence of an even larger flood about 6,000 years ago; and such a larger and more recent flood would have destroyed the evidence of those many earlier floods.
In other words, there was no global flood some 6,000 years ago!
The Nevada petroglyph dating is just another confirmation of this.

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

I didn't know there was a US Geological Survery between 15,000 and 13,000 years ago.
Sorry.

Re: Dating pre-Flood floods
In other words, there was no global flood some 6,000 years ago!
Now that we have excluded a flood of water as a possible interpretation of what Genesis 7 was describing, we are left with "Out-of-Africa" theory that these passages refer to extinction of Neanderthal starting 40 thousand years ago, and "flood" of Modern Homo sapiens around the whole world even to the mountain tops.
Paleontologists, Christopher Stringer and Peter Andrews proposes that modern humans evolved from archaic Homo sapiens 200,000-150,000 years ago only in Africa and then some of them migrated into the rest of the Old World replacing all of the Neanderthals and other late archaic Homo sapiens beginning around 100,000 years ago.
If this interpretation of the fossil record is correct, all people today share a relatively modern African ancestry. All other lines of humans that had descended from Homo erectus presumably became extinct.
From this view, the regional anatomical differences that we see among humans today are recent developments--evolving mostly in the last 40,000 years.
