Re: Why America is Better
Just adding a comment to the message chain, not a reply to you specifically...
Drink strength tends to vary in the US. Chain and normal-fare restaurants tend to have watered-down drinks, while upscale restaurants, at least around here, tend to have normal drinks, which when when you're used to the drinks at TGIF or Long Horn or Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday or Chile's taste incredibly strong.
Sometimes when I find a drink I really like I'll buy the ingredients and, following a recipe, attempt to make it at home. Invariably it is very strong.

Re: Valentine's Day in Saskatchewan
The Chad Mitchell Trio? Someone besides me remembers the Chad Mitchell Trio? My favorite song is Barry's Boys (click to play), my second favorite is The Hip Song, couldn't find an online copy.
I don't think I've heard the song you're referring to. Are you sure it's by them? Wouldn't mind a link to it.

All business travelers to Asia should be forewarned that they will sooner or later be asked to sing for their supper.
Given what I assume would be the singing voice of the average business traveler, they must have a remarkable tolerance for pain. I wonder how far into American Pie I'd get before they stopped me, which given their style of manners I assume would be truly remarkable!

Re: Re:Makers Mark to be watered down?
They say it was a supply problem, that decreasing proof was their solution to increasing supply since they couldn't in the short term increase production. I'm curious if they really maintained taste while decreasing proof. I would have thought the concentration of alcohol a key component of taste, that consumers would have had to use more to maintain taste, and that therefore the supply problem would have remained unsolved.
My own suggestion is that they increase price until supply becomes sufficient.
But I think their misstep will only make their supply problem worse. I've never had Maker's Mark before but will definitely order it next time out, and I assume I'm not alone. What drink should I order?

Perhaps we should begin another thread for submissions like these, we could call it Tragedy.

Interesting. The "u" they substituted in sons is a reduced-size copy of the "u" in Justice, while the "s" they substituted in Justice is a reduced size copy of the first "s" in Justice.

I didn't get the Dexter reference, nor why it led to Decadent Cookies, nor why one might imagine Decadent Cookies with dead flies for chocolate chips, nor the confusion with decedent.
