The weather outside is frightful

Our weather here in Central Texas is so variable this year.Today sunny and clear with a high of 80 degrees and then Thurday and Friday morning down to the upper 20s.

I like a big pot of Texas Chili in icy weather. Keeps forever and you can have it as chilimac, chili dogs, chili and rice. ymm.Edited by 1.61803, : No reason given.

So the high here today in Central Texas was a balmy 92 degrees which by Texas standards is pleasant. France on the other hand must be feeling like they are in Hell.

For the past 3 days the temps have broken low records in the low 60's,( at night.)
We had a "cool" front come in, I hate saying cool front when the high still gets in the 90's. But last year this time we had 22 days of over 100 degrees and only one day of 100 degrees this year. The humidity is oppressive since we are over 9 inches in our rain totals. My garden is actually producing tomatoes and peppers this year.
And yes I have lots and lots of Dragons flying this summer. In fact they are happy the resident Purple Martins have left as of last week back to South America. The Martins are usually gone by the second week of July. I will see if I can identify what dragon flies are prevalent here. Happy hunting.Edited by 1.61803, : spelling

I found out the dragon flies around my house are Blue Dashers.
They actually saved me from some wasp the other day.
I was cleaning up around a fence when I disturbed a red wasp nest and several angry wasp went flying up away from their nest. I was expecting to get pummeled by them and was running like hell with my hands over my head but not one got me.
I looked up and there where several blue dashers intercepting the wasp on the wing with vigor.
They are amazing hunters and I never knew they took wasp like that. Edited by 1.61803, : spelling
