And not ONE of you people even bothered to extend me a welcome or offer any relevent information at all.. Again, Why????
Because your very first post here, you took a combatative and insulting tone, and ridiculed those who believe differently from you. That tone hasn't changed since you got here.
And now you expect us to believe you're just a poor, ignorant, supplicant of information? Please.
Look, if a guy walks up to me and says "hi, how do you do", I'll welcome him, and maybe buy him a beer. Do him a favor. But a guy who walks up to me with an uncivil tone doesn't inspire me to help him out.
You started it. Don't blame us for hitting you back.

Re: Evolution
Hi all, First, let me say that I do NOT believe in evolution.. Scientists are far from perfect... I mean, can we grab a leech, I have a headache??? OH, and let`s not forget bloodletting and oh so many other scientific proofs... and ya know what the earth is NOT flat as they told the good folks way back then... AHHHH, You`re gonna fall off Columbus...PU-LEASE!!!!! I don`t believe what they SAY.. God made us and we are his creation. Monkeys are still monkeys, they didn`t change?? Hmmm...Chickens are still chickens, Sparrows are still sparrows, doves are still doves.. They have found a prehistoric fish 12 years ago, they looked exactly the same.. Now if we evolved as they would have us believe, then why does a fish that scientist TOLD us was extinct, get nabbed in a net, and it is the mirror image of what is was like 65 million years ago...Hmmmmmmm!!! I think not.. There is NO evolution. Ok so maybe we have gotten fatter and taller.... We are still the same species now that we were then.. HELLLO!!!!
Could you point to the spot in your first post where you ask for information. To me it looks like a misinformed tirade, but maybe I am not picking up on the intended sarcasm. Just imagine if someone came at you the way you came at us in the above post. Fire and brimstone speeches may work at your pulpit but here they are not tolerated as easily, you can't make something true by being the most vehement advocate. Like others have said, look at other topics on this site and also look at the TalkOrigins Archive: Exploring the Creation/Evolution Controversy website. You have been given your information. If you want specifics on a certain topic (like the Coelocanth, which is what you are trying to get at, I think) let us know. Being bitter and combatant does not a good christian make.
And by the way, we don't care what a person's degree is in, all we care about is a logical argument.

Re: Evolution
I just felt like grabbing one little tidbit that the others on this site didn't gobble up first

Actually, King Ferdinand appointed a panel of experts to examine Columbus's proposal. They turned him down because they used Erosthenes's (relatively correct) number on the radius of the Earth, and determined that there was no way Columbus could sail that far. Columbus was using erroneous numbers on the radius of the Earth, due to using incorrect measures of distance.
Noone in the scientific community was arguing that the Earth was flat. The Greeks had figured that one out long ago. In fact, one had even proposed a heliocentric universe (Aristarchus), but he was mostly overruled because he was unable to explain why at different points in Earth's orbit you don't see stellar parallax (the real answer is because the stars are so incredibly far away)

Re: Evolution
Ok, I re-read my tirade. I did not mean to come off that way. I apologize most humbly.. {:-( .. I was trying to convey who I was and my beliefs.. I am most sorry for offending anyone. You are right . It really does sound that way... I really am seeking truth.. I will go to the site you gave,, thank you for that..
Can I start over????? Hi, I am here to seek the info, that I hope to find in this site. I am seeking evolution proof. I am a minister and thus, I don`t believe in evolution.. There are many scientific folly`s, as well as Godly ones.. Thank you for pointing me in a solid direction to look.. To all of you in the forum, Please forgive my loud mouth blunders and I will re read what I spew out, first before I submit, the next time... Have a blessed Day, Jan

Re: Evolution
Good post jantool. I think most of the folks on this forum would be willing to give you a "second chance".
Perhaps a discussion of what made you doubt evolution? Or picking any given particular aspect you think problematic and asking rather than frothing whether it really is problematic. Were you, as Loudmouth suggested, referring to the coelocanth wrt the "prehistoric fish"? That could be a good thread (or resurrect an older one - it's been discussed several times here.
Suggest perhaps opening a new topic with a bit more specifics on what you'd like to discuss.

Re: Prehistoric Fish Google
I agree, it hardly merits a response at all, does it.
On the other hand, I do appreciate your post immediately after mine.

"I am a minister and thus, I don`t believe in evolution.. "
I would like to point out "I don't belive in evolution" does NOT have to follow from "I am a minister"...:

Re: Evolution
The coelacanth was discovered in the mid thirties. I want to say 1936. To say that it is identical to the coelacanth of 65 mya is like saying a six-legged cow is identical to a 4-legged cow.

Re: Evolution
Hi, why do you say that? When I first heard of it, I was told it was identical.. Was it not?? How??? I saw a documentary of it a few years ago, and that is how it was presented as well... I have read about it and came away with that idea just the same. What am I missing???

Re: Evolution
Coelacanth is pronounced SEE-low-canth, approximately. Two species of them are known, one from near Madagascar and one near Indonesia. Kind of interesting fish, in a very slow, laid-back, fatty sort of way.
