I am a little upset that we will be meeting the Canadian team (most likely) in the semi-final game instead of the gold medal game as it should be. With that being the case, my guess is that whoever wins that semi will go on to win the gold. Although, I would much rather prefer a Canada vs. US rematch for the gold from last Olympics. Oh well...21 medals so far, with 7 golds. USA making a strong showing of ourselves like normal.

Uh-oh...
So, I am watching the Canada score right now and am quite surprised that Latvia is holding it to a tie game into the third period. Is Canada going to be the big upset in this one???

Never mind...Canada holds off Latvia for the victory 2-1. Time for the U.S. to meet up against the best competition they will see during these Olympics (at least in Hockey). Going to pick it here and now....the winner of the Semifinals match-up between the U.S. and Canada will go on to gold.

I guess....only a Bronze chance
Just finished watching the Canada v. US Hockey game and I must admit that the US was simply outplayed throughout that game. Well done Canada, you definitely earned your way into the Gold Medal game. The US will have to settle for a chance at bronze against Finland this year, but trust me....four years from now we are coming at you again and we can do it...I swear to goodness!!! As for the Gold Medal game, I will be cheering for Canada to take the high spot on the podium because I would rather lose to the best in the world than otherwise. Again, Congratulations Canada.

Bad show at Hockey (Men's) for the US
I was completely blown away by the decimation handed to the Men's Hockey team from the US agaisnt Finland. The 0 part I can slightly understand since the Finns are best known for their goaltending abilities. However, allowingthem to score five goals against us should have never happened. It was almost like the US Men said, "well no Gold or Silver, so who cares." Oh well, hopefully in four years we won't embarass ourselves in a sport we should be competitive in at all times... Second in total medal count, so I will take that for our Olympic squad. One sad event, I waited so long to watch the Bobsled and began watching on Saturday in Run #1. I was looking forward to cheering on Jamaica in this event. However, I find out that Jamaica did not even make it past the qualifiers that were run on Friday, so I never even got to watch them race. Oh well, I hope to see them send a squad each year from now on, instead of waiting another 30+ years to send their next winter competitors.
