Thank you, Tanypteryx.
Looking around I'm not sure I'm worthy but I do appreciate the recognition.
Thanx, again.

A stunning clarification of the atheist view point that was both profound and concise.
This bit had me thinking well beyond the normal haunts of my brain.
Modulous writes:
The problem with ultimate purpose seems to lurk right there, so we build this great new future with god. That was our final and ultimate purpose. So what now? Do we no longer have any purpose? Do we just hang around for the rest of eternity with no more goals? I don't see why this is a point on which the atheists should be derided. Having an ultimate purpose and reaching that in the blink of an eye (in eternity terms) doesn't seem worse than having a finite number of purposes until such a time as there are no more purpose havers.
Great post!

I can't devise any credible reason for doing that on purpose, so I'll go with the truth: I plead innocent by reason of brandy.

Hat tip to Percy, who pointed this message out here (and also copped a great graphic).
This message was back in January 2014, but messages were piling up fast and I totally missed it. Now I've added the 10th (+) to it.
Just epic (not epoch). Maybe the entire Depositional Models of Sea Transgressions/Regressions - Walther's Law topic in one message (and more).
Probably up there with the best evcforum.net messages ever.

Thank you, Moose. Your words are greatly appreciated, but far too kind for a post written with obvious haste. I am happy to see a full thread on the topic of depositional environments. It is the nail in the coffin for flood geology.
Cheers!

Very few people seem to understand that the First Amendment was intended to protect government from religion AND to protect religion from government. With both an admirable economy of words and delightful use of metaphors, Omnivorous makes this point as clearly as one can. Now if only Christian Dominionists and their followers could understand and appreciate the point.

an admirable economy of words
First I ranted at length, then I chopped.
The rant comes easily; the economy, not so much. Thanks for the nod, and especially for those kind words.

RAZD for his post Message 49, Re: Some more basics on evolution in Evolution falsifies God/s?.
Sure, it's another longish post (though not as long as other RAZD posts I have seen), but it does slamdunk the creationist view rather thoroughly again.

hbd lays out a clear procedure to convince opponents that an alternate hypothesis (in this case, the biblical flood) explains the geological evidence better than the current theory.
He masterfully contrasts the wrong way and the right way with multiple examples of each.
