So we go out of business then and have to live on the streets. Same difference. You could always serve the public in a non-discriminatory fashion. Last I checked, baking a cake for a homosexual will not send you to Hell.

There are such things as what is right for society and what stands constitutional muster. Oh, sure, the law was totally unconstitutional.
Society has matured a lot in the last 10 years on issues of race, sexual orientation and immigrants. That's what I'm saying. That's why these 1950's race comparisons are stupid.
This law back fired on the bigots because society has reached the point that as a whole we do not countenance overt state sanctioned bigotry. Maybe you should consider it because...
These are baby steps but strong steps forcing the bigots further to the margins of society. Maybe instead of forcing them to the margins, you can eliminate them from business altogether. But your gonna need to identify them. What better way than allowing them to shout their bigotry from the rooftops. Then you can pick them off as you spot them.

Please cite the verse where it says that you are not to do business with homosexuals. I am not to do anything that appears to condone or promote their sexual practices and specifically gay marriage, both of which are against the Law of God. Genesis and Leviticus speak to these, and Jesus quoted the marriage law of Genesis. Otherwise I would think a business owner should be free to choose on any grounds whatever whom to do business with. If they want to jeopardize their business that should be up to them. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

That ought to be intuitively obvious IN THE CONTEXT OF GAY MARRIAGE, but if it's not for you it's none of your business if it is for others who do regard it as a violation of conscience. Again, freedom of conscience is for those whose opinions differ with our own.

Those of us who believe the Bible is the inspired inerrant word of God will choose to die rather than be forced to do something that violates it. Apparently that's all right with you. Welcome to the USSA.
Are you insinuating that Christians will be executed for something like this? Such drama!! Really, Faith, tone it down. My advice to you & other Christians so morally opposed to violating your interpretation of the bible - don't open a business in the public marketplace. Easy. You understand that you can still be a bigot, but in private, right? Private organizations discriminate against groups of people all the time.

If anti-gay discrimination is a thing of the past, how is it that an elected state legislature would have the votes to pass a pro-discrimination bill? From the OP:
quote: They're not reading the bills and just voted for them because their party proposed it. That they have to renege to save face implies that most of their voters are not for the bill.

I'm SO sorry, but it's those who are opposed to Christian business owners refusing service for Christian reasons who are the bigots. Right, don't open a business, right. How very very tolerant of you. Enjoy the USSA.

Again, freedom of conscience is for those whose opinions differ with our own. Freedom of conscience does not allow you to discriminate as part of your business. You can't deny inter-racial couples a bed a hotel just because you think inter-racial marriages are wrong. You are free to differ, but you aren't free to discriminate.

Baloney. I bet nearly every one of them would be re-elected if they kept supporting the bill. These bills are coming forward in multiple states (including my own) because there is wide spread public support for discrimination against gays.

Again, the comparison of race with homosexuality is an absurd twisting of reality simply for the purpose of promoting bigotry against Christianity.

You are against "discrimination" against "sexual preferences," right? Apparently there are NO "sexual preferences" you would want to "discriminate" against? None whatever?

How very very tolerant of you. No need to apologize, and you seem to be ignoring the public/private part of this discussion. Or do you not see a difference?

Again, the comparison of race with homosexuality is an absurd twisting of reality simply for the purpose of promoting bigotry against Christianity. Bigotry against christianity? Not even. There are christians who support gay rights and are against bills like the one that nearly passed in Arizona. This is a stand against people who are bigotted towards gays, and it is no different than discrimination against race.
