So why is evolution so controversial?
It isn't.
... a growing number of scientists are frowning upon the modern synthesis...
A "growing" number? This has been a mantra of religious kooks for several decades and yet none of them can show any such "growing" number.
What the National Center for Science Education has shown, however, is that for every scientist you can mention as an evolution naysayer there are multiple thousands who aren't.
Ever heard of the Steve Project?
Some choices here.
Either you picked this crap up from some creationist website that has been lying to you which makes you look like an idiot, or
You know this is a lie and you really are an idiot.
You're in here unarmed trying to do battle with the monster.
You might want to consider actually finding out what you're talking about before returning.

Re: Why so hostile?
Yes there is a growing number of scientists who do question the Neo Darwinism.
I should hope so. Neo-Darwinism went out years ago. The Theory of Evolution is now many steps in advance of what used to be called the Modern Synthesis.
Such a lack of knowledge on your part is understandable. You do not know what you are talking about.
But let's get down to it ...
Yes there is a growing number of scientists who do question the Neo Darwinism.
Prove it.

Reconciled
So maybe there's a little controversy about the term, but do we need to have that debate in *this* thread?
It is done. As you command, Sire.

Smoke and mirrors
You count the number of scientists who reject evolution, have a degree in the biological sciences, and whose first name is Steve ...
Like these guys you mean:
Reading comprehension? The requirement is for "a degree in the biological sciences "
That means guys like this:

Do linguists spend a lot of time learning Darwinian evolution? How about metallurgists?
What a piece of work you guys are.
I see the ***** hasn't abated one bit here at the phony EvC site.
The NCSE list is for all scientists who support evolution. Even Linguists.
The challenge in this thread is for you to list scientists who have a "degree in the biological sciences" who do not support evolution.
I very much doubt you inadvertently missed this. You chose to ignore it.
The only "lying" going on here is yours. You can't meet the challenge so you blow smoke, obfuscate, misdirect, lie.
Real piece of work you are, Pebblebrain.

Despicable Me
And you also apparently missed how I know AZ despises me.
So did I, apparently.
I did not realize that I despise you. Someone could have let me know, sent me a message, an e-mail, something. But, noooo! Y’all just let me continue on despising the ideas without any thought of despising the person herself (someone I actually kinda like in an oppositional crazy-person sorta way, but I guess I’ll have to give that up now. Pitty).
Anyway, I am sorry for coming into this so late.
I did notice something. You didn’t need anyone to defend you. You did a pretty good job defending your personage self all on your own. Like Nukes said, when you’re right, you’re right.
Now, you do have major problems defending your ideas. But, then of course, your ideas are quite inane, despicable, bigoted and amusingly entertaining. Again, this has nothing to do with despising the person with the despicable ideas. Although most will not even try, there really is no difficulty in separating the two.
Honestly, even if you insisted that I do so I doubt if I could despise you personally.
But your ideas? Whoa! What a crock of

It's Free
Images are not uploaded to the forum for storage (except avatars). You need to have your image on a third party site that can be called into the forum when the page with that image is viewed.
Try PhotoBucket. It's free.
You draw up your stuff, uploaded to PhotoBucket and they will give you the proper IMG code to use here. And best of all it's free.
I have a whole bunch of images there that I have used on my forums over the years, all still there, still available and will still show up on those really old posts. It doesn't cost you anything. It's free.
You can find images on the web, download them to your PC, play with them, upload to PhotoBucket then post them here.
Did I mention that it's free?
