RINGO: (Identification: toddler. Nope, ain't gonna shoot that.)
GUN ADVOCATE: Hell, smart guns is just another attempt by pansy-liberals to limit my rights. If I saw a toddler coming at me, all drool-like, and erratic walking, it's in my god-given rights to protect myself and family. So, I ain't gonna let no "smart gun" prevent me from emptying my ENTIRE clip into that diapered-terrorist.
(BTW Ringo, I liked your Sharon Stone avatar better than your current gun-popping Connery avatar)

Folks are right to be leery.
quote: quote: Call them 'gun nutters' if you'd like, but the concerns are genuine and valid. Don't let the (entirely inappropriate) comments of the few cloud your perception of the majority of gun-rights individuals. There is good reason to be wary of guns that can be armed and disarmed via a radio-controlled computer chip. JonLove your enemies!

Yeah, like every other sensible measure to save a few innocent people from getting shot, it's the thin end of the wedge that forms the tip of the iceberg, and the next thing that'll happen is that all the True Americans will be gassed in totally real non-imaginary FEMA camps. This can only be averted by constant vigilance and carefully targeted death threats.

There is good reason to be wary of guns that can be armed and disarmed via a radio-controlled computer chip. Couldn't you just wrap your gun in tin foil? Or are we saving that to make hats?Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Yah, what's up with them un-american liberals? Every time a new technology comes out they're always looking for government mandated ways to use it to save peoples lives! Remember the scourge of seat belts? Societies and governments are not here to protect the people! There oughta be a law.

All you have to say is
There is good reason to be wary of guns. There is no reason for the rest of the sentence.Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

The CEO has been receiving death threats and pressure has forced gun shows to stop selling it. Here is what an NRA spokes person says about the reaction to Armatix's smart gun.
Mr. Keane said the industry did not oppose developing the technology. But, he added, No. 1, the technology is not ready. No. 2, we believe the market ought to work. Of the Armatix episode in California, he said, They tried to put the product on the market, and the market reacted. When gun nuts react to market forces... duck and cover!Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. I would like that very much, thank you. Call them 'gun nutters' if you'd like.... What kind of nut wraps his guns in the Constitution and then denies me the right to the gun that I want? - one that my child can't use to shoot his classmates and my wife can't use to shoot me and my aging mother doesn't confuse with a cigarette lighter. And what kind of nut says his position is valid?

There is good reason to be wary of guns that can be armed and disarmed via a radio-controlled computer chip. You think they can't already do that? All guns can currently be controlled by radio signals. - Oni

Do people still really think HAARP is a weather research facility?
Oh, that's a good one.

Yeah, it's not particularly inspiring. Top of the list: Man shot after he 'threatened to shoot everyone' during argument at Cleveland Avenue skate park. Hooray, the good guns will defend us from the bad guns! Thank heaven everyone had guns. Wait, wouldn't it have turned out better if no-one had guns? Next up, Homeowner shot, killed exchanging gunfire with would-be burglar ... OK, the good guns won't always defend us from the bad guns. Who's next? Ah yes, Police: Fatal shooting may be self-defense. Let us know. And then, of course, we have Shooters in Metro ambush that left five dead spoke of white supremacy and a desire to kill police. Er, that doesn't sound good. And in what sense is it a story about "Defensive Gun Use"? The killers shot themselves. Perhaps they did it defensively, eh? Well, thank goodness they had guns, or the whole thing might have turned nasty.

There's pages and pages and pages of links there. Many are labeled as to what they are, including Bad DGU and Bad form. The vast majority of them are positive.
The links are user-submitted. The order in which they are listed constantly changes due to upvotes, downvotes, and age, so there's no reason to list any of the order of the links here. Anytime in the future when someone clicks on the link, the order will not be as you listed it. In a day or so, it won't even be the same links near the top. Nothing stops people from submitting links, so there could be ones there that don't have anything to do with DGU. They might be moderated out in some time, or otherwise they will eventually be downvoted out of sight.
