What makes you think I want eternal life under God's terms?
Remember God is going to grant you eternal life in a existence that God is creating. Blue writes:
I am.
I was not saying faith is a negative or a unreliable practice. Blue writes:
How do you know the "satanic books" aren't sponsored by God to make Satan look bad?
The argument that Satan could be the person answering my prayers does not make sense especially if you read any satanic book. Blue writes:
I asked you, "What if Satan is really the good guy?" It's (suppsedly) God who's "revealing" to you that Jesus is His son. If God is the bad guy then that revelation is likely to be false.
Why would Satan teach via revelation that Jesus is the son of God? Blue writes:
Where did I say that Satan was answering your prayers? I thought my point was that nobody is answering your prayers.
Your thoughts that Satan is answering my prayers would make sense if the revelations didn't occur. Blue writes:
Likely to be false, yes. Every religion has its own faith-baed claims and its own revelations. They don't all agree so at least some of them must be false. Yours are just as likely to be false as anybody else's.
It seems as if you are arguing that faith based claims are unreliable and therefor false. Blue writes:
The difference is that science is self-correcting; it is always changing its picture of reality. Religion, on the other hand, is notoriously resistant to change.
What is real in Science is not always REAL just like what is real in revelation is not always REAL. Blue writes:
So we've come full circle. Where did evil come from in the first place? What exists that God did not create?
When God's plan is complete Evil will be blotted out.

And verse 13 says, "For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." To be justified, you must do what the law says whether you've heard the law or not - and if you have heard the law and don't do what the law says, you will not be justified. Hearing the law is irrelevant to justification.
The actual context of vs 14-15 is per vs 12.

We just simply disagree.
Understanding scripture is as much a development as understanding the laws of the universe. In my view "evil" was created by satan. It is not stated evil was created by God in scripture ref to gen 3. God does punish evil acts ref to gen 3. I'm fine agreeing to disagree. Edited by Blue, : AddSincerely Blue

No matter what way the cookie crumbles you end up with a divine law that judges you in those verses. I agree that we decide to a certain point and that we can act according to the law without knowing it. Ref to my prior post.

Satan chose evil. God created beings with free agency. Beings that can't opt are not free.

God created Satan. God didn't create evil. The ideology that because God created satan God created evil is rediculess. Did your parents create your intentions? This also is a bad argument that God is not all knowing. God created free beings. This freedom is abused but it is also exercised as per God's wishes. Choice has always been the point and thus why you are judged.

Essentially, it could be argued that satan created himself...at least as a freely expressive character. God allegedly created the angels...Lucifer among them---or so the legend goes.
The legend also says that God created evil(Isaiah) but I would argue my interpretation being that God created the possibility of evil, which Lucifer chose. Perhaps from Lucifers standpoint, he was choosing autonomy over submission. I would be hard pressed as a defense attorney to defend him in court. I wouldn't defend Hitler either. When I use a word, Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to meannothing more nor less.

ringo writes: Anything is possible within the realm of discussion, I suppose. The next question would be why would God trick us? Hey---I can see that in some ways being fully autonomous is better than being under rule. I might direct the courts attention, however, to the evidence which does not have any good attributes on satans rap sheet while Jesus has a darn good record. For satan to turn out to be the good guy holds no evidence.
